A map will leave a TD1 flag even if the map is removed. Just something worth considering on a lease.

Loads around. Not sure where you are in the country, but MRC in Banbury, Oxon, have been around years and have a good rep.

As others have said, make sure you un-flash it properly before handback (if a lease).

I've been quoted -

Service & maintenance £13.59/Month (£353 over term)
Service, maintenance & Tyres £16.71/Month (£434 over term)

I'll be doing 8k/year so 16k total

Is it worth going for? Has anyone had any experience?

For how cheap that deal was I'd pay the extra and be fully covered personally.

Yep and manufacturers/dealers have reinforced detection, quite rightly as the next owner may not want to have a previously chipped car.

Mapping a lease is quite a stupid things to do IMO, particularly if you have an engine or box issue.

To be fair, if 250/300bhp is not enough on the public road (you can't track a leased car) then the issue is with the driver.

Correct you can take the map back off but the TD1 flag will be left you cannot remove it. Might be worth seeing what DTUK could offer. Whilst not as good as a map its a safer solution on a lease. Or you take the gamble.

Hi, sorry I cant help with the maintenance question but I also signed up for this a5 Cab lease. It sounds like you've had your paperwork through from Audi Finance ,Can you tell me how long this took to come through as im still waiting (over 3 weeks)
Also Did you receive the details of the Dealership who it is ordered through so you can track the build through the factory.

Hi,

I got the order number straight away so I could log into Audi and see progress. My build slot was 12th Feb and it was built and shipped in a day - current status is "arrived in UK"

I originally thought it was Swansea Audi but it's actually Blackburn Audi

I only had my paperwork through yesterday via email to sign and send off my driving license.

Dealing with Chris Powell at uchoose if that helps

Thanks for your quick reply, I have a SLI number which I think is used to track the build but i havnt been given the postcode of the ordering dealer so I cant track the build, Did you get all this info when you placed the order?. I have asked my broker for this info but he says he hasnt received it yet. Can I ask what date you ordered your car also?

Fleetprices have this on a 10k 9+23 £137.3 for a total of just about £4,400.

I'm looking at the DSG 115 SE Tech. the 9+23 and 3+23 are pretty much the same total cost for 10k miles at about £4,780.

I generally lean heavily towards BMW and even i'm preferring the current MB designs from the outside. But I don't think its due to an error on anyones part. We've simply reached a point where other manufacturers design language is in the ascendency and BMW's design language needs a refresh.

WRT interiors, I don't think BMW are alone in this. They all seem to have the same interior from model to model, simply improving materials, increasing screen sizes a bit, etc. Yes you see a difference when there's a refresh of a model, but then the rest of the range follows and they all look the same again. The only exception is ancillary/lifestyle/"pay more for a better looking car on same platform" models. For example the 6 GC interior.

I was talking about the Technology model. Don’t forget Fleetprices charge a £298.80 processing fee which needs to be added on to your “total cost” figures. That brings the Tech model to around £5081 or £211 per month overall.

I didn't have it either and I just used the brokers postcode. Or I might have chosen the option for company car. I can't remember but I successfully tracked without that dealers postcode. Good luck.

The "standard" BMW interior has pretty much been in place since at least the F30 in 2011 though, it does feel a long time and replacing a car with something that looks as near as dammit identical doesn't give any new car buzz so we will simply go elsewhere just for a bit of variety even if the features are much the same.

I was just offering an alternative. My figures are for the SE Tech DSG on 10k not 8k. I think on 8k it's all much of a muchness.
