Which is where lease companies go beyond MOT requirements...and indeed beyond what most insurers will cover. Had this with a company lease - insurer wouldn't replace windscreen as chip too small, would only repair. Lease company then charged us for replacement windscreen after the car was returned. Utter con...
A hammer onto the windscreen would assist matters.....

Ideally I was going to get a Golf GTE, but that plans been scuppered by VW stopping taking orders!

My current shortlist (very varied!) is:
- Volvo XC60 R-design - (Havent seen any recent deals)
- A6 Avant Black Edition 1.8 (£275pm, total cost £9.1k over 24 months, so £379pm really - Carleasingonline)
- Golf R 5dr DSG (£290pm, total cost £9.3k, so £387pm - SelectCarLeasing)
- Golf GTI DSG (Most deals the same Ive seen are the a few quid less than the R, so might as well get an R!)
My daughter worked in a dealership, she is well into her cars and could never get her head around those that came in to test drive a large SUV who would then ask to try a small hatchback and flip flop between a hybrid and the least fuel efficient car in the showroom. Why don't they decide what type of car they want/need first? she would say. So I told her about this thread!

Looks like new A8 is going down in price, from £16K for two years, down to £14K. Still not great deal, but there's a progress.

Audi A8 Diesel Saloon 50 TDI Quattro 4dr Tiptronic
9+23 8k Miles p/a
£4,558.83 Initial Payment, £459.87 Per Month, INC VAT, £14,715.84 total, Additional Fees £420.00. Maybe dealers have the same offer without fees.

Are you liable for the MOT on a 36 months deal? Can you send it back a month early to avoid?

I assume it depends on the leasing company?
Just give it back before it's 3rd Birthday, simples! That's what i did on my previous Scirocco. Didn't have it's 3rd service either. Service light was on but heard nothing back and not charges for any damages, as it was pretty immaculate for a near 3 year old car.

Hi everyone. First time posting and looking for some advice. Ive currently got a Golf R on lease which Ive had a rolling contract since it hit the 2yrs...but I want to replace before the warranty hits 3 year. Recently had a baby too so need something with occasional practicality! Also, need c.8k miles per year. Ideally I was going to get a Golf GTE, but that plans been scuppered by VW stopping taking orders!

My current shortlist (very varied!) is:
- Volvo XC60 R-design - (Havent seen any recent deals)

- Golf GTI DSG (Most deals the same Ive seen are the a few quid less than the R, so might as well get an R!)

Are there any deals still on the XC60 that anyone could share? Has anyone seen better deals on the cars above?

There seems to be a bit of a glut of deals at the moment - is now a bad time?! I was reading about the dire state of the car market so thought there would be loads of deals!
Volvo V90 R-Design £262.88 PM on a 6+23 for 8k miles

https://www.whatcar.com/car-leasing/deals/personal...

Or the Saloon S90 R-Design for £4 PM cheaper

https://www.whatcar.com/car-leasing/deals/personal...

Cheaper than the Audi A6 and much much better specced and has a more modern infotainment system. Semi-autonomous driving comes as standard on the 90 variant Volvos, as does full LED headlights (which are awesome for night time driving) The standard kit is off the charts on these cars.

There's AUDI A8 3.0 TFSI 55 Quattro | 340hp but no deals on it at all. No petrol ones on Autotrader or Audi Used ones, so I guess hardly anyone is buying them. All demos must be diesel.

Although the lack of front parking sensors as standard on such huge cars is off-the-scale tight.

Oh, and S90's are still not being delivered quickly enough so make sure you can cope with a very long wait.

Front parking sensors would be good, but when other manufacturers charge in the region of £3k for semi-autonomous driving and full LED headlights, I would rather have those for free than get free front parking sensors which are only a few £££ anyway. Spec for spec, I don't think you could reasonably argue that in terms of overall package, Volvo could be considered as 'tight'

Good point around S90 lead time. As I understand, the V90 is made in Sweden and the S90 is made in China. My V90 was ordered a couple of weeks ago and is due to be at dealer end of March (a grand total of 3 emails to buy a car - I've had Xbox live purchases that were more drawn out than that!)
I'm not sure what the S90 leadtime sits at now, but the V90 seems to be quite sharp.

Hardly any dealers are ordering them you mean smile Can't imagine many (if any) of those cars are actually customer ordered cars.

The semi-autonomous stuff is of limited appeal to me (and far from flawless in operation).

My ordering process was as simple as yours. It's just that they can't do the bit that matters, ie making and delivering the car in any reasonable sort of time, that grates.

Apart from scanning this thread everyday (which I do) how do I go about finding the latest and greatest deals? Any tips?

1. Sign up to emails from popular/biggest brokers,
2. If you're looking for particular car models, do search on https://www.contracthireandleasing.com/ and setup alerts. You will get email every day with current prices.
3. Install script sorting https://www.contracthireandleasing.com/ and just go daily and see what's going on there. I scan it occasionaly to see what's the cheapest in my criteria (24 months, automatic). Sorry, no link to working script but maybe someone can post it.

Depending on parking situation, front parking sensors may not be that important. I reverse wherever possible and use mirrors/camera to see what's going on. And if driving in, just looking where the car ends. Do the same for a big saloon and small convertible and it works fine.

there will be some dealer principal cars there too. I'll be surprised if every franchise dealer isn't actually being forced to take one.

The V90 D4 R Design deals seem to have been around for ages, anyone recall the best deal on them? Or is the one a few posts back about as good as it gets?

Still deals on the M3 / M4 ? Or C63 E63?

Something of that ilk, no Audis.

When I was returning my Audi early, I told VWFS what date I want to end contract, they took payment based on it. Then sent my details to BCA and I called BCA to agree on collection date. Inspection was done at my house and I dropped off the car a few days later at the dealership where I was picking up new car. I had to ask dealership if it's ok with them and keep my insurance cover until car will be collected by BCA. So I dropped off the car on Saturday, dealer took it to locked compound and BCA collected it on Monday. All went smoothly and I only paid for excess miles up to date of inspection, I did 300 miles more after that.
Regarding the excess miles, I keep hearing from different sources that you don't have to pay for any excess miles if you VT your contract. I presume you kept the car for the full term?

You can’t VT a PCH contract, just early termination which will incur fees, usually about 50-55% of remaining monthlies, and mileage is calculated pro-rata smile
