I sent off my order for an Up GTi last night, was a 12 week wait but got an email back today saying VW are now saying 26 weeks!!
Even a 12 week wait would be a pain as my current car goes back in April but 26 weeks is just crazy!
What kind of deal was that ?
+1
I would also be interested in this and can live with 26 week delivery - please post details.
get in touch with hollie.sharman@listers.co.uk it is 9+23 with 10k mpa £213 a month for standard GTi apart from red with black roof
Doesn’t that work out at 50% of RRP?

Presumably for this price you get a matching pair.
More than a Leon Cupra.
Unless you have a really short driveway I can't think of a reason why you would.

Only "cheap" AMG I saw is A45 at £11,481.60 total for 2 years, Madsheep and a few other companies offer them. Must be going out model, as it's in stock.

Mercedes-Benz A Class Amg Hatchback A45 4Matic Premium 5dr Auto

https://www.contracthireandleasing.com/independent...

CLA45 is from £13,010.40 total for 2 years.

I think M4 recent offer wasn't bad but is probably gone.
You are a worth of knowledge. Great find smile
The A45 AMG deal is about ~28% of the RRP, so it is okayish, but not great.
Which is where the percentage doesn't work as that's great deal for a new A45 if you want an A45.

Maybe not so great if it's a 17 plate though!

I have a Golf GTI with VWFS and the terms clearly say the full amount of outstanding payments are due on early termination for whatever reason. Clearly the 55% may be a common concession but as it’s not contractual it cannot be relied on.

Horrible "deal". Much better off PCP'ing or getting a personal loan over 4 years and buying it outright for approx the same monthlies.

Never really understood why some folks care about plates (not saying you do Fast Bug). If you are going to own the car then sure it affects the future value but if leasing, as long as there hasn't been a facelift and its still in warranty surely it doesn't matter?

Only reason I suppose is the "keeping up with the Jones'" mindset of needing the newest car in the cul-de-sac.

For anyone with one of the cracking Golf R Estate deals from 2016 I have managed to extend for 12 months @ £195 per month with £60 admin fee

5k miles with excess @ £0.06p + VAT

Car will need a service but still very cheap motoring
Interesting - I did the same for my R estate and the monthly came out at £350+ annual mileage is/was 10k

I'd read the terms in each case. Most I've read state a total loss does not end the contract, or it does and constitutes an early termination by the leasee with all payments due (it's your fault not theirs). Lease gap is to pay all outstanding payments that fall due, whatever they may be, but worst case the whole lease cost if it gets nicked on day 1.

I'm going through the total loss of a lease car process at the moment, and in my case, the insurance company and lease company agree with each other's valuation of the car. The insurance company has paid the lease company that value less my excess, which is the only balance outstanding

I would ordinarily have lost my initial rental, but covered it up to 2k via my gap insurance policy. This is where I am having the issue, as the gap insurance provider is trying to weasel out of paying that due it not being a "deposit".

The broker I bought the policy through has assured me that the policy sold was (and still is being sold) to cover the initial rental, and is clearly advertising it that way

Most frustrating!

Which gap company is it? What's their basis for "not being deposit". Aren't most policies worded as "Initial payment"

Regarding A45, it must be model which is going out of production, as it's in stock. Still if someone wanted it, it's not tragic. I can't remember seeing similar price for A45. I was on AMG meeting last year and when I heard how much someone paid for their A45 on PCP, I wanted to scream. And he was quite happy with it.

With 17 plate there's one issue: first service, warranty will be for 3 years so will cover 2 years lease.

I'm not sure what the rules are on posting the company names, hopefully this isn't breaking any

Gapinsurance123 was the website I bought the cover through - they are one of a number of brands for this broker, all of which sell the same policy. This is a link where it clearly says that the policy covers the initial rental

https://gapinsurance123.co.uk/1312/deposit-protect...

Unfortunately, the insurance is being provided by Motorway Direct, who claim that the insurance covers "deposits" as that is what it says on the policy

"Deposit Paid
Subject to an additional premium being paid (identified by ‘deposit paid’ in the
additional option section of the policy Schedule) and in the event of a valid
claim, this policy will cover the original deposit paid as detailed on the finance
agreement up to the maximum claim limit of £2,000. "

The broker completely agrees with my interpretation, and has been very good, giving me a free policy for my new car through one of their other brands which uses a different insurer. i'm in contact with a senior person there, and they advised that they are already awaiting on an FCA ruling due to the behaviour of the insurance company, and advised me to complain through the official channels.

They are confident that I will be paid out, which is what I am hoping will happen

Thanks, I have RTI policy with gap123 on cash purchase and it's also administered by Motor Way Direct Plc but there's no deposit in case of cash purchase. My lease car is with sister company Total Loss underwritten by Qudos Insurance A/S. I guess it's time to read policy again and in more detail.

So my policy with Total Loss has following definition:
"deposit means the initial deposit paid by you under the terms of your lease agreement and specifically listed on your invoice and finance agreement."

WVFS agreement states: "Advance Rental". Vehicle order form says: "Balance due from customer", so no document says initial deposit or deposit.

If Manheim is similar to BCA you'll have nothing to worry about I don't think you'll be charged anything. My Scirroco R went back last week and it had been keyed along the side, had numerous stone chips and a badly curbed alloy, total cost £161 it's not worth worrying about.
Yeh, depends on the guy that turns up but generally it will be a case of "nothing to see here". Just make sure it's had a full clean inside and out.

Interesting, what was your original mileage allowance?

I'm on 10k pa but with 3 months left the car has only done 11k miles.
This is interesting to know, I have one of the decent deals from last Summer (6+23 @ £250/month). At the moment I would definitely consider extending another year...

Yes, Total Loss is another brand of the same broker, and the free policy they have given me for the inconvenience is via Total Loss also underwritten by Qudos Insurance

I'm not the first, and won't be the last person to be affected by Motorway Direct's interpretation, so would advise anyone who thinks they have their initial rental covered to check their policy!

What are they like about seat stains? I had a bit of chewing gum stuck to the seat which I've since removed, but the residual colour of it is still there, like a white-ish spot on a dark cloth seat. About 15mm wide. Will I be charged for this I wonder?

leasehub is around £6336 with 15k miles.
