Yeah life's too short to worry about spending money. Just spend spend spend
I think your missing the point, the point as far as I can see is why have a car like that if you can't drive it, if you are stretching yourself just to afford it in the first place - so much so that you have to worry about adding a few hundred miles then I think its pretty obvious that it wasn't a good idea.Realistically this is the dream from a lease company point of view - it sits on your drive doing pretty much nothing for a few years whilst you pay for the depreciation.
My friends son got an RS3 in January he pays £600 or so a month and it has sat unused for 3 weeks this month whilst he waits to get paid and can't afford to put fuel in it, the same idiot sat at dinner last week with us and told me how he'll never get on the housing ladder and the Gov needs to help people more....................

Would a Abarth 595 appeal, or is the extra room the Golf gives required? There are some good deals on the Abarth at the moment.

£753 down
£251 per month
12k miles a year
Might be worth emailing them as I didn't think that was too bad to be honest considering the miles.
Following buying my Octavia lease from VWFS via BCA, the paperwork stated the balance of the warranty wasn't to be included as part of the purchase.
I was surprised yesterday when Skoda dealership stated my warranty still was valid, and upon checking a second time confirmed it is as far as they were concerned.
I'm curious as to whether anyone else has clarified this position with their purchased ex-lease?

Surely the warranty is between they car owner and the manufacturer. The lease company shouldn't have anything to do with it, surely it's no different to me selling an 18 month old car and any new owner being able to claim on the remaining warranty?I was surprised yesterday when Skoda dealership stated my warranty still was valid, and upon checking a second time confirmed it is as far as they were concerned.

Coming back to my previous point on my mega miles purchase issue.
On the advice of others on here, I went to look at a 67 plate Skoda Superb Sportline 190 DSG estate with a few extras which I would have wanted, in my second choice of colour (easy to keep clean silver) at the local Skoda dealership.
It only had 2k miles on it, so for all intents and purposes is nearly new. Skoda are doing an extra £1k to finance deposit on select used cars at the moment. It was up for £20995, which was cheap compared to anything local (by the tune of a few grand). Battled them down £700 off, but it was a hell of a fight, and we were arguing over £50 in the end.
But, with £2k in, plus Skoda's bit it came out at £282 over 48 months. On my costs spreadsheet I can't get close on a new one, or close really with anything else I can find.
It was perfectly nice to drive and get along with, so decided to go for it. At least as a PCP I have some getout if needs be half way through too

My understanding the warranty is based on the car not who owns it or where it is purchased from.I was surprised yesterday when Skoda dealership stated my warranty still was valid, and upon checking a second time confirmed it is as far as they were concerned.

Incidentally how did the price for the car from VWFS stack up to the market. I am thinking of purchasing my golf later this year.
Can I get an opinion please..

Ugh, £9200 for a crappy 135bhp 1 series? Not a good deal at all. 39% of the broadspeed price of £23.8k, even allowing for the 15k annual miles this is an awful deal.BMW 118i M Sport Shadow Edition Automatic with Metallic Paint

Let me guess, the badge is a big draw? Giulia Veloce posted earlier is a better price!

I had a quote from a main dealer so no fees and it was £810 initial, £272 per month with 12k miles per annum on a 3 year lease. BMW 118i M Sport Shadow Edition Automatic with Metallic Paint

Granted lower miles and a manual though but 4.8ppm for excess miles and metallic paint.
Try your local dealer, you might be surprised. This was Sytner in Leicester.

A few things go into it actually, I need a car that's in stock and an automatic due to a knee injury which is making me struggle to do my long commute in a manual. Also i'm quite young so I personally don't mind having a 136hp car for a couple of years until i get to an age where insurance isn't ridiculous. It narrows my options down quite a lot. In your shoes I'd look at buying outright a diesel Golf with the DSG box.Greendubber said:

Synter Leicester is my local so I just gave them a call and they quoted me £341.62 so nice little saving without the broker fee if I decide to go ahead, thanks mate! Granted lower miles and a manual though but 4.8ppm for excess miles and metallic paint.

My leased Focus ST goes back at the end of Oct so I'll be back in touch with her then as the cars would have been ready too early for me.

Had a letter from vwfs today stating my current lease ends on 19/12. It said I should start visiting my local dealers to select a replacement. Are they discretely saying there’ll be a 7 month wait?
I was hoping they’d offer to extend the current car at £108 a month.
I got the same letter! My lease runs out on 18/12. I have called to request a quote to extend by 6 or 12 months. Will see what they come back with. I was hoping they’d offer to extend the current car at £108 a month.

Same letter myself. I may just email the dealer and see what they have on. The deal I had on the GTI was pretty unbeatable. £0 down, £240 a month on 10k miles a year. Gassing Station | Car Buying | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
