Thinking of buying a car to use at the weekends. I've got a ford Kuga and a Lexus LS 430. Selling the Kuga so got a budget between £10,000 and £13,000. Not bothered about mpg but it's got to have 4 seats. I know it's difficult to predict but would like something that depreciates slowly and is fun to drive.
Any ideas would be appreciated!

It depends on what your idea of excitement is, I'd say get one of these CLK55 AMG, they're good fun standard but a few choice upgrades & you can have something that's a riot plus drop all the windows open the roof & you have a relaxed cruiser plus you get a cracking V8 soundtrack.

I'm bias as I've had a few but I think they make a great weekend warrior, they don't break the bank & prices have been pretty firm for the last few years.

That's definitely a good choice... Thanks. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mercedes-Benz-CLK55-AMG...

Get yourself something iconic and cool like a 60’s mustang. Highly reliable. Tax and soon to be mot exempt. £95-£160 a year insurance.
Parts are cheap as chips as is servicing. Very reliable and good to drive. I’ve yet to see anyone not grinning like a Cheshire Cat after being in one.
They don’t hold value either they rocket in value. Which makes them an outstanding investment.
Your neighbours will be green with envy. Park a 60’s mustang up and people will flock to it for pictures etc.
Watch out for annoying expensive faults on mercs. I always think to myself if a vehicle is that good why is it worth pennies compared to say the equivalent year 911 which hold value.

Indeed they can be moneypits and are a boat to drive unlike a Porsche.A big Merc wouldn't get near my "fun car" list personally.
An Impreza or Evo and dozens of hot hatches and sportscars would however.
CLK is just a bit bigger than a 3 series & they are fun my CLK63 is a riot the 55's have always had that right mix of bhp/torque four seat comfort etc, they also represent a bit of a bargain the slightly smaller C55 prices have been rising & the CLK's are starting to rise too.
As for faults the biggest pain is you hear a clicking from behind the dash which is the heater actuators which is a labour intensive job as the dash has to come out but the parts are cheap.
If I wanted something fun with four seats it would be the CLK or M3 for me especially when it comes to running costs.
