Buying a car that no one wants me to buy
Discussion
Will it be on HP or PCP (as opposed to buying it outright or with a loan not secured to the car)? If so, stating the obvious, bare in mind you are going to be tied to the car for some years and just selling it may not be an option if you change your mind..
I'd personally want to be pretty sure it was a good purchase and not one I'd regret and be stuck with, only saying this as you seem a bit unsure with buyers remorse, family not onside etc. It's certainly a nice car to waft around in though.

Your money, your choice.
However I'm sure they know more than we do about your werewithal to buy it.
Will the cost preclude you from doing other things that might or should be important to you?
Will you parents end up bailing you out if it goes wrong?
What's the risk that you might need to sell it before too long? A nearly new exec saloon isn't the best for avoiding depreciation. It's not inconceivable that you could lose £10,000 in a year.
Why spend £30,000+ (I assume) on a 3.0 diesel when you can buy the same shape with a 3.0 supercharged V6 for £20,000 or twin turbo V8 for £25,000?
I'm a married home owner... getting rid of an A5 Sportback. For those who think job is important I'm a civil engineer. However I'm sure they know more than we do about your werewithal to buy it.

I'm not putting my wife and I into financial difficulty with the purchase. We just bought my wife a fiat 500 today as she needs a run around.
A7 has been a dream of mine and now it's in touching distance I feel I have some opposition!

Cancel that reservation and move the deposit to an RS7
You know it makes sense
+1 to the above or get an RS6 your dad will disapprove right up to the point you hit the throttle. You know it makes sense
The moaning started immediately, these seats aren't very nice, ride is a bit harsh, you're going too fast, bet you spent too much on this etc, he's got the worlds worst back seat driver in his ear and on his case for miles and he was getting more than a bit pissed off.
As he approached the entrance slip road to the motorway he quietly slipped it into
It was the first time his dad had ever experenced a twin turbo V10 on maximum attack before, his dad is currently hoping it was also the last time...

My wife hates my car. Thinks it's senseless and a huge waste of money. I don't care as I work 50+ hours a week to pay for it.
!
I’ve had this for years, these days the first thing she knows about a new car is when it turns up in the garage. Saves a few weeks of ear ache at least.!
You earn your money, so spend it on what you want, if you can afford to of course which it seems you obviously can. Your parents probably have the mindset of wanting you to save your money, they'll like the car when they see it, your girlfriend should see it like this:
You can either buy the Audi that you want, or you can both take up a none materialistic lifestyle by moving into a caravan, getting a leggy Escort diesel to share, selling all her handbags and living in a field. She'll soon warm to the fact that there's worse ways of living than with somebody who wants to drive a nice car.

Sod ‘Em! If you want it and can afford it- why not!?
I bought my XKR and turned up on my parents doorstep with it
They love it (don’t blame them () but if they didn’t- who’s paying for the bloody thing and who’s opinion matters- mine!
Enjoy your new purchase OP- if it makes you smile, go for it. Let us know how you get on
