I'm going to look at an MX5 in Rotherham tomorrow having seen the car on Autotrader. It's a trader, Darren Brocklehurst Sports Cars. His website does not appear to be up, the address on google maps does not indicate a showroom. Has anyone had any dealings with this person?

haven't dealt with him before.

Just had a quick look at the car, seems ok no issues on the HPI, mot history seems legit, I do know a few traders without a actual website but it isn't unusual.

try giving the guy a call on his mobile and asking some questions hopefully he can answer them and you will have a better feeling.

Thanks for the response. I did a saunter through google maps, could not find his showroom so phoned up a local business to check his existence and reputation. Well thought of in the area, chap I spoke to said he was a nice lad and had bought a car off him. I was just a bit worried about the lack of internet presence, and references.

Cheers

Just to finish this off. After real nervousness about a lack of internet presence and feedback, I met with Darren Brocklehurst to look at the MX5. His showroom is tucked away off the main road so it does not get piked up on google maps. It's a really professional setup, selling top end prestige and sports cars. His specialist interest is Lamborghini but he sells quite a range from 10k MX5s to super cars of around 200k.

I've been looking for an MX5 for quite some time and grown tired of salesmen with all their tricks, deceits and inaccurate descriptions. In comparison, Darren was a breath of fresh air, the car was exactly as described, perfect in every respect. There was no pressure, he just stood back and let me go over the car in micro details. All the paperwork to hand, no hidden extras, just good service. Ironically I was buying on a weekend and my internet banking scheduled the transfer for 3 days time. My bank had to be contacted and asked to usher the payment through double quick but Darren was completely laid back and pleasant about it. I suspect he has spent less time selling a top of the range Ferrari but he had all the time in the world.

Highly recommended. Next time I'm looking for a car, I'll be giving him a ring first.

Just purchased a car from Darren,

I live in Malta so bought the car based entirely on the description he gave me. He was true to his word and the car has just arrived and I am externally satisfied having purchased this BMW from him. A true gentlemen
