Your R Design T4 looks steep at 332 as the phone should only cost 300/18 = £16/month extra
Is it on the same terms as my quotes??
Mine is on 10k miles per year, so 15k over the term, which accounts for the extra. Smartphone integration added about £13/month, which isn't bad really.

Santander will also let you choose metallic colours at no extra cost. Does anyone know if this includes the Volvo "premium" colours like Bursting Blue?

Are you talking about the car being delivered to a local dealer?
Preferably yes. That should also help smooth out delivery times of the current plan is to have all 530e and 225xe delivered via one group/dealership.

Interesting as that would suit me as well.

Have you asked total motion?

No. Why would Audi do that? Never happens. Will never happen.

I'm aware of the much talked about S4 deal... I was wondering if an equivalent 'good deal' has ever been mentioned on a RS.
VWFS don't seem to give good support on RS models hence why we done see good deals
Better off with pcp. RS5 was discounted to £51k through car wow
I totally get that, when you work out the leasing costs of a typical RS it's horrific...

So... why are there even leases available on them (eg. on leasing.com) ??

Why are leasing companies wasting their time listing them... if we assume no one wants to pay that much?... or are there enough people taking on such crazy leases?

It is all largely automated, so it isn't a hardship for lease companies to offer prices on cars that are rarely taken up.

Hi chaps,

I’ve trawled through pages and pages here but couldn’t find the definitive costs of the Santander V60 deal. 8k miles would do us as a family wagon. I have other vehicles for my work. Anybody care to re-post the deal?
Santander will give you a quote. Here's the web address: https://www.santanderconsumer.co.uk/123contracthir...

They've quoted me £332/month for a V90 R-Design T4 with smartphone integration. I've asked them for a quote on a D4 for comparison. Originally had my eye on the XC60, but at £80/month less, it's a sizeable saving.

Edited by Witchfinder on Saturday 18th August 10:09
Phone them up on Monday and they will tell you on the spot
Im just about to FTK on a V90 but would be interested in V60 numbers too

The following were given to me last week by Santander
All V90 on 1+17 12000 miles in total (8kPA)

D4 R Design 353
D4 Inscription 392
D5 R Design 536
D5 Inscription 574
T5 CC 359
T4 Ins 334
T4 R Des 296
T5 Insc 383
T5 R Des 345

Your R Design T4 looks steep at 332 as the phone should only cost 300/18 = £16/month extra
Is it on the same terms as my quotes??
Thanks for your help numtumfutunch and Witchfinder.

Cheers that works out only about £20 a month more than the 1.5 from vw but with 10000 miles per year instead of 8. I would order it now but the wife is still wavering!

if VW matched that deal but without the fee its only £3 a month more than the 1.5 which seems a no brainer.
Just read the actual quote from vw they have sent the wife, they have actually quoted her for the 2 litre r line arteon!

£7050 over 2 years, £293.75 per month amortised which I work out to be 20.5% of the list price.

I think its a good deal, I just wish she would stop messing about and order the bugger.
What dealership was this agreed at? My local one is a little dearer but would like to push them. Was this for 8K?

How do you work out what's a decent lease deal ?

I want a abarth so i can get one for £966 up front then £161 x 35 so £6618 total .

Just to muddy the waters the local village garage has the same car but a 2010 reg for £5750 so not sure if i'd be better buying rather than leasing ?

Buying v leasing

Better or cheaper?

Buying an 8 year old car should of course be cheaper. But will it be better?
If you don't want an 8 year old car and want a nice shiny brand new car every 2 or 3 years which you won't have to worry about an mot tyres brakes exhaust and loads of other things going wrong which could cost you money down the line then like me you will go for the lease.

Your money your choice.

With leasing, after those 35/36 months are up. You give the car back. You effectively rent the car for 3 years for £6618

What was the criteria though for what made a decent deal ?

I'm sure i read on here somewhere that there was a % where if at the end you'd paid a quarter/half ? of what the car costs to buy it's either a good or bad deal .

I'm fine just handing the car back at the end which is why i'm not really interested in the whole pcp deal .

Basically if the full lease costs (initial + monthly payments combined) is less than 25% of RRP over the term of the lease based on 2 years/10k miles then it's a good deal, less than 30% is still not bad but not brilliant. Less than 20% is a steal.

Deal i'm looking at is £6603 for 3 years , and i think the on the road price is £15,960 for a abarth 595.

So doesn't hit the 30% criteria which ( if my st maths is correct ) would be £4977 ?

£15,960 - 30% = £10,983 = £4977 difference ?

That deal is 27% for two years, proportionally. Question is really, whether deal is cheaper than depreciation over the same period. So how much would you get for part exchaninging your car after 3 years, if you bought it for cash. There are discounts on brand new cars at https://www.autoebid.com/buy-new-cars/show-discoun...
Outright purchase discounted price (On the road) £14,600
Finance buyer discounted price (On the road) £13,850 ( you can buy on finance and settle straight away, just to get discount)

3 year old Abarths 595 start at £8500, so part exchange price is probably £7000.
Depreciation is £6,850, leasing deal is £6603. Leasing includes road tax but it's totally inflexible if you wish to terminate it early.

With a lease you're effectively borrowing the car and paying for the depreciation. Because leases are usually anywhere between 12 and 48 months (and a longer lease will obviously cost more), it's difficult to compare like for like.
You use the cost over two years as a proportion of the list price to compare to other deals and to give yourself a rough guide. In your case, it'll be £4402 as a percentage of £15960, which is about 27.5%.

Remember, this is just a rule of thumb to work out if you're getting a comparatively favourable deal. It's especially useful for comparing different makes and models. Don't get too hung up on the percentage though; treat it as a crude comparison tool.

I've been looking at a Volvo V40 and from the same Dealer as this one for the V90 I got the following, which I thought looked pretty good - compared with others and the very first quote I got from my local dealer which was £60 more...

Rental Profile 6 + 35
Initial: £1,276.56
Monthly: £212.76
Mileage: 10,000
Total Cost: £8,723.16

Any thoughts gratefully received. Note this includes metallic paint which would be about £9-£10 a month, so the price without this is about £204 I guess.
Does it come with an engine? If not it's a terrible deal IMO
Yeah what engine and spec is this please?
So yeah try again after epic failure on my part!

It was the V40 T3 Momentum Nav Plus
