Hi there...

First poster here - does anyone have a dealer contact for Merc? I am interested in that A250 AMG Saloon but wondered if I can avoid the broker fees anywhere?
Drive Leasing don't charge broker fees either.

My S5 goes back in March and I am yet to order a replacement. I am hoping January will bring some good deals. New car sales are down and with the B word mess I am hoping there will be some deals. Although weak £ may have a countering effect.
same... got a feeling nothing decent will come up, i REALLY don't want a 2 litre 4 cylinder anything!!
Same! Keep flirting with different things but non are anywhere near as all round as the S5 for decent money
I'm in the same boat too, My S5 is due to go back at the end of March, despite looking for the last three months on a daily basis there still hasn't been anything that as being worth considering. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that something interesting pops up, but I am getting the feeling that we are not going to be that lucky.
I am currently considering going back into purchasing rather than leasing and have some interesting cars on my radar, but keep hoping that a lease deal will crop up.
Have neither of you considered formally extending your current S5 lease for another 6 or 12 months?

I'm in the same boat and after getting monthly extension costs of less than the current monthlies it seems like a no-brainer to me - just looking to decide if I go for the 6 or 12 months..
I haven’t received any extension costs. I was put off by the need for a second service and two near tyres being needed.

What have you been quoted?

Why don't you request extension quote, it's free after all. Then you can decide if it's worth extending and paying for service and tyres.

i tried a little while ago and failed to even get through to someone that i could speak to...the automated system sent me in loops....definitely my problem as so many people do do it. I will try again next week as 6 months (ish) out now and done 11k of a 16k agreement so could work out alright for me.

"...or similar."

Hmmm, what's similar to a carbon-tub hybrid sports car, large heavy bling SUV or a fully electric saloon?

Similar in terms of not just ICE - PHEV or EV

Try leasing.com and select 'Hybrid' or 'Electric' as fuel type. Best of luck.

Been some time since i have trawled through here. I thought i was done for 2 years after i took on the GLE in july but i'm back.

My Dad's Jag XE is due to go back 19 January. been offered the following extensions by Lex at 7000pa (pro-rata)

6 months - £285.88 plus VAT
12months - £241.37 plus VAT
informal £294.00 plus VAT

currently pay around £215.00 plus VAT.
alternatively, i (or anyone not financially tied to my dad) can buy it from them but I am waiting on a quote.

unsure whether to renew at these prices or to try and source an instock 'deal' alternative within 2 weeks (due to Christmas) and in stock is looking poor atm. Poor planning on my dad's part as he has been away since October and will be back first week of Jan and didnt mention it to me until last week.

any recommendations for In stock deals?

There have been quite a few decent deals on Mercedes E classes, and there have been some decent A6 deals too.

try CityLeasing, though they sometimes exclude the second years road tax

My Golf R Estate does not go back until June next year but I wanted to be prepared ahead so have just booked the following;

VW Arteon 2.0TSI 190 DSG 8,000 miles pa, no options, total payable over term £6918 inc delivery.
This included a renewal bonus from Listers.

Seemed very fair to me and as ever Hollie Sharman at Listers VW was delightful and very efficient. She even told me how to correct the settings on my email account which one of my children had messed with.

Although these are delayed in production Hollie says that June should be okay as they have some on order already.

No connection with Listers but if looking at VWs perhaps try Hollie. I do not know if they are the cheapest but I have had nothing but fantastic service from them. They even delivered my Golf as a special a few days early last time as I needed it to pick up a child from university and wanted the capacity.

I FTK a few weeks ago on a Jag XF Sportbrake R-sport via Select Car Leasing

£2927.02 + 23 x 325.22. This included whatever Jag call the Virtual Cockpit in their language @ £500. 10k miles. Excess mileage at a fairly hefty 19.5ppm. Road tax inc for both years (checked after seeing the recent deal that only included first year)

Replacing an S4 which will go back at end of Feb with 36000 miles and needing a service shortly and some new boots. S4 was contracted for 10k miles per year. Called VWFS at 6 months to go and committed to 33000 miles at a reduced excess rate of about 10ppm -with the last 3000 miles at the contracted 12.98ppm

Will be circa 100hp down, and 2WD, but quite fancied a bit of a change of scene. New enhanced touchscreen seems a lot better than the old sat navs in the jag. Either way, it's a tool for the job.

Overall I think it is a reasonable deal. Could have done better ironically with a Portfolio spec car, but had some undesirable bits of spec.
Just wondering what was undesirable in the Portfolio vs R-Sport other than the alloys?

On the same terms; 10k and 9+23 and including the Digital Dash, the Portfolio works out £65/month cheaper. That’s £2,080 extra you’re paying for the R-Sport over the Portfolio, and you miss out on some toys such as heated windscreen, rear-view camera, better sound system, keyless, electric adjusted seats.

At the time, the difference over the term was £1000. Clearly Portfolio was the better equipped car, but I prefer the R-sport styling, the wheels are a lot better, I thoroughly dislike the wood inserts. I would have undoubtedly appreciated some of the extra toys, but I would not have paid extra for them.

In my personal balance of deal vs desirability, the R-sport won out.

It was interesting to note that you could chose the R-sport wheels on a Portfolio and it would cost the same £420 as choosing the Portfolio wheels on an R-sport. Likewise the wood veneer in an R-sport would be £320 over the standard gloss black. Want Gloss black in a Portfolio over the standard veneer? That will be £320. Bearing in mind the cars are just built from a bill of materials and there is probably no cost difference, it's a bit of a piss-take.

Anyway, time to get back on topic (or to another off-topic subject)

Is this for the R line in urano grey? What is the excess mileage charge?

I dealt with Hollie too, she's really good. Sadly it don't work out for me due to lead times etc but she was super honest and stopped me ordering a car from a bullstting broker that would have meant I was without a vehicle for a couple of months.

Her prices were spot on, if VW have anything I fancy next time I'll be speaking with her for sure.

Another vote for Hollie from me. Brilliant with all my noob questions when arranging my first lease last Feb’. The deal she put together on my Scirocco was better than I found at any brokers.

This was my experience a couple of months ago then I’m sure I read someone say it’s better to leave it until nearer the return date to get better rates. Will try again.

Although my S5 hasn’t been very well today. Dash threw up start stop fault and then a check engine light came on. It was also not running smoothly at all, engine not ticking over as usual. Checked the manual and it said to take it straight to my nearest dealer which I did. They booked it in and gave me a courtesy car saying it’s not right. Update due tomorrow!
