I needed something for the MIL to go shopping in as well as teaching my daughter to drive.. It needed to be manual, insurable and cheap..

I FTQ on this deal from Jet Vehicle Finance:

Vauxhall Crossland x 1.2 Elite Nav (Met Blue in stock)

6+23 @ £143 inc VAT for 5k miles. (8k was £154)

https://www.jetvehiclefinance.co.uk/Search/10968/V...

They had a 5dr Corsa offer around £113 which i thought was really good value too, as well as the 200BHP Astra. It is never going to be a PH choice car, but is practical, felt comfy enough with a decent spec and most of all was cheap..

I know it's in my contract....and this is the deal thread....but a quick question.

Golf R goes back end of Jan. Oil service is due in 4 days. What's the rules around this? Will they charge me for it if I don't do it? Is there a leeway date (if so i'll give the car back a little early and dodge the service).

Any input appreciated.

I have a Golf R also - I always do services as worry that if anything went wrong with the engine and they can see I missed a service, they might make it my problem as missing a services. For this reason, I never miss a services or an error message

Jet are also doing the larger Grandad X at a reasonable price. Not amazing in % terms, but probably the cheapest car in this segment at the moment, https://leasing.com/independent-brokers/jet-vehicl...

Without wishing to sound like a patronising w***er its in your contract and without reading it I doubt anyone else can help you

My BMW went back last month
The contract said I wasnt allowed to have a service light on

You may have wriggle room
The current 3 series lights up on the month its due not a specific day, if Id given it back on October the 31st Id have been fine, the light lit up on the 1st November. I gave the car back mid November on its anniversary, next time if I end up in a BMW I'll be smarter and take it on the first few days of the month and return it on the 30th of the previous one, unless its February......

Cheers

My new E class has arrived today - it's a lovely thing. And yes, Fast Bug, it does indeed have the big screen. The wheels look humungous!

It's very dismal and wet, so this pic doesn't do it justice.

See, I told you it would biggrin

Looks good in red, I've ordered a C43 in that colour to replace my E220d Estate. I give it a few weeks before I miss the MPG and huge fuel tank in the E Class laugh

What does your contract say? If the service is due in 4 days will it not be overdue when the car goes back?

Hope this doesn't apply in your case, but with my recent Alfa lease (contract with Leasys), the contract specifically says that drivers must hold a full licence, so if yours is similar it would rule out using it for teaching your daughter to drive. Worth checking the small print before taking delivery....

If it is a VWFS lease then you will be ok with 4 days remaining until service - I had about 5 days or so on mine when it went back - I deliberately sent it back early to avoid paying for the service.

Yes, but he says the car goes back end of January, and the service is due in 4 days from now... Pretty clear cut really...

With MBFS you can go 30 days or 1000 miles over. I know, I've done it.

I've just had the lad from BCA round to pick up my old car - he's put zero damage, however it is tipping down out there now. The bodywork and interior are 100% unmarked and perfect, but every alloy needs refurbing. He says it's going straight to auction and doesn't reckon I'll get billed for the wheels. I'll be very pleased if this happens, but I somehow doubt it.

For anyone considering the A35 AMG deals that are kicking around at the moment I just a long chat with applied leasing and they had verbally given me the following figures:

£299 per month based on a 9+23 agreement doing 8000 miles a year.
Interestingly at the moment it only jumps up a small amount for mileage increase:
£302 per month for 10,000 miles a year.
£303 per month for 12,000 miles per year.

The problem I find with this car is that the doesn't look that different to an A180 its standard form, so I also asked for a price with the AMG style pack and the price started to jump:
£355 per month for 8000 miles per year
£378 per month for 10,000 miles per year

If you then add the premium pack on top of the AMG style pack it comes out at £404 per year for 8000 miles. Based on 9+23 I make that an initial payment of £3636 which gives a total over the term of £12,298.

I concluded that I don't want the standard car and wouldn't want to pay £100 per month extra for the style pack and premium pack, most of which I would really have expected from a standard car.

This all came from Matt at applied leasing - I hope someone finds this useful.

The worst two letters when looking for a lease deal must be SE.

Yous see the price and an image of the car in a better spec then boom the cars real spec is SE.

Im not sure why the aero pack is a must? Just like our S5's aren't that much different to a standard A5 S line. Its the same scenario here too. I personally didnt want the (too shouty) aero kit but on the standard car the grill and metal bits in the bumper are different as is the rear bumper and spoiler. The only thing I would say is the alloy wheel design could have been different. The A35 is like Audi's S3 (our S5's) so a little subtle compared to an RS3/RS5 etc

I think premium pack adds around £20 a month and if you can then definitely add this as it makes the interior really premium and adds a lot of kit, other than that it doesn't require anything else, IMO of course. So around £321 on 9+23
