Two year old car with drill hole and repainted -Octavia Vrs
Discussion
For a 2 year old car to have that sort of mileage it's clearly been a workhorse and had a hard life - ex police seems pretty plausible.
Disregard the age for the moment. For the mileage, the issues you have mentioned are all completely realistic. I wouldn't reject the car, but if you're not happy with the standard of some of the repair work then it would be worth having a friendly chat with the supplying supermarket and seeing if they'd be able to improve it.

Rejecting a second-hand car
If there's a problem with a second-hand car soon after you've bought it - for example, the car develops a problem you wouldn't expect for its age and mileage, or it turns out not to be what you’d been led to expect - you may have the right to reject it and get your money back.
If you bought the car any time after 1 October 2015, you have only 30 days to reject it and get a full refund under the Consumer Rights Act.
Im not here to bicker of that, i just would like others opinion if its something to worry about.
All this replying on here is wasted, have you actually rung the car Supermarket? I say this because if you know you can return it & your not happy with it why haven't you done so?If there's a problem with a second-hand car soon after you've bought it - for example, the car develops a problem you wouldn't expect for its age and mileage, or it turns out not to be what you’d been led to expect - you may have the right to reject it and get your money back.

They won't have know it's had a repair.
I know that despite being new you say you've been a long term reader so may have seen previous threads with people rejecting cars. All the cynicism posted here is simply because it's never as straight forward as it seems on paper and if memory serves me correct the "cooling off period" only relates to distance selling.
The salesman saying it wasn't repaired isn't worth the paper it's written on. It'll be your word against his. Have you checked if the car is on the insurance database? I can't imagine a 2 year old car, even with 60k miles on would be cheap enough as a purchase for me not to be bothered about a sill repair that had been significant enough to require paint to the filler cap level and possibly door removal or realignment.
As for previous life as a police car I suspect it would have extra holes drilled in some dash panels for all the kit.

If you asked about a repair, it's had a repair and they denied it had had a repair, then you are going to be entitled to a refund. They are an expert and should have known about the repair, you are not an expert and are not expected to have known. The problem you are going to have is proving that they gave you the duff information if they decide to lie, otherwise it's just he said, she said and you'll end up stuck with it.

Not always the case anymore.
Fittings are either in the double din space or side fitted mounting running under outer plastic (lights/siren/some lights module)
I stand corrected. My old man had an ex-police car about 10 years ago and the dash was covered in small holes. I guess things have moved on.Fittings are either in the double din space or side fitted mounting running under outer plastic (lights/siren/some lights module)
Hi guys
Sorry I was waiting for some solid news.
Car was inspected last week.
Here’s what happened - car was in a front end smash, it’s had two new wings, couldn’t confirm new bonnet, it’s also had the enitires drivers sill replaced.
I was told by the inspector not to worry about the wings as purely cosmtetic. However he was disgusted by the repair to to sill, it’s full of filler and holes and doesn’t line up at all. I’m annoyed with myself for not seeing
He said the repair is such a sub standard he doubts it will last more than a year and has voided my 12 year anti corrosion warranty.
Recommended I ask to return.
So it’s with the finance company at the min. I’m not sure what will happen. What I am is pissed off with looking.
As soon as I get a response I’ll post an update.
