Is an extended warranty an option, if you're nervy of bills?
I guess it's always an option, but I've pretty much only read bad things about them & how they wriggle out of paying.

Think I do too much googling & worrying!
I'm not a fan of the insurance industry, but read T&C's inside out.

Well warranty companies only offer them to make a profit, so if you have "average" luck you might as well not buy one and save the money towards any potential bill.

No wonder you are the "Undecided_buyer"! laugh

I'm back...again...

For personal reasons I haven't been able to continue with the car hunting until now.

I am thinking of viewing these soon

Anything obviously wrong with these?!

Mazda 1k cheaper, maybe slightly better fuel economy, and no turbo to worry about. And I may be able to p/ex.

Mondeo probably bigger bootspace, quicker, and probably cheaper spares etc?!

I'd go for the Mondeo, as long as I can see a receipt for the purchase of a good cambelt kit (otherwise I'd be assuming it hasn't been done & be negotiating as such) then I'd have piece of mind, with the Mazda it's a good car but in the real world there will be around 2mpg because of the 2.5T's engines extra torque.

10 years or 125k so should have been done last year...I did mine early (at 100k) and with everything it ended up a £500 service at a (Volvo rofl) specialist.

Ford will charge £349 to do it on the Mondeo so knock them down appropriately if it hasn't been done.

Cheers

Cambelt supposedly done with receipt.

Didn't travel to view this weekend, weather atrocious. Hopefully this next week.

Can anyone advise - which of the Mondeo Petrol engines have timing belts and which have chains?
(Does it depend on the year?)

I have done some searching online but not sure where to look for a conclusive answer

Many Thanks

No, I work all week and it is not local to me. Planning to go at weekend.

Also saw this one which looks smart, but I'm asking the seller about the service history, hence my question regarding chains/belts

Morning all,

Just to bring the thread to a conclusion at last!...

I recently purchased a 2010 Mazda 6 2.5 Sport.

So far very happy with it, vast improvement over my previous car.

Many thanks for all of the suggestions & comments made in this thread, much appreciated.
