Secure/defensive vehicle mods
Discussion
Friend of mine has a lifted Hilux. Rock sliders down each side, ARB steel bumper on the front, and a custom fabricated dropside bed and steel rear bumper.
I've seen pictures of it absolutely ruining idiots cars in supermarket car parks. One woman had her kid open his door into the side bar and smashed her own window, he had another just nudge up against the bumper parking in a bay and it ripped there bonnet off like a can opener.
All the urban defence you'd ever need

Assuming this isnt a schoolkid dreaming and you're series then buy purpose built. Along the lines of a VR4 Built BMW such as: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2007-BMW-550i-Security-...f:0
That's only bullet resistant, not bullet proof! Ah the thing i forgot to suggest was, 'remain inconspicuous!', a Porsche of any description isnt, my money would go on a 4.8i Se X5 (Fitted with optional acoustic glass (Laminated)) with all the options.
Not bad if I can get the right interior combination, a lot of the ones ive seen look dated, from what ive read this glass would only be on the windscreen, will see how much it is to retro fit

I still want a bit of luxury! haha I have seen some similar ones in good shape but they still need a lot of work to be used on a daily basis. Good idea thoughhttps://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rover-110-Defender...f:0

Anything you do aftermarket wise will only have a limited effectiveness. Pentagon Glass Protection, Auto Lock on Doors, Disable Stop start, runflat tyres, ensuring you always have 1/2 tank of fuel and doing some advanced driving, evasive manoeuvring etc. Also id avoid low profile wheels, if going for a GTS, those wheels and tyres not not put up with accelerating across a curb etc at anything faster than walking pace!

Thanks! i saw this 5 series on gumtree but would rather do the mods myself so that I can pick the car and I would prefer a 4wd. Any other cars that would be good over curbs? Also I have checked out the pentagon window link too and will be calling tomorrow for a quoteAssuming this isnt a schoolkid dreaming and youre series then buy purpose built. I'm all for personal protection but we don't live in Grand Theft Auto, in the UK at least.

Re the Toyota
Many years ago I had a Range Rover classic painted matt black using a roller, bob tailed by cutting the back end off to the rear axle pickup style, tube rubbing bars down the side (so I could wedge it against a tree and roll round it), 4x2 steel bumpers that took no prisoners, raised suspension but nothing silly, big enough tyres and a lovely growly V8. Not one panel was flat - clearly a rufty tufty car (used in off road competition).
And I was STILL cut up on roundabouts by Euro boxes that would fall apart if they touched it.
It had very good brakes however.

Aye, forgot to mention in the post I made, the lad who owns the Hilux works in a supermarket. His car sits in a rather notorious car park for ditherers 8-12 hours a day. Although what is pretty depressing is it has a reputation on the local 'parked like a knob in XXXX' facebook page, and every time it gets brought up there are a large minority who complain that hitting plastic bumpers is harmless, and he shouldn't be allowed to park something that causes such damage there.
