Which is the most comfortable BMW 3 series?

Is it the seat or suspension that causes the issue ? I've always found the sports seats comfortable, the 1,3 and 4 are pretty much identical. The 5 series are wider and more supportive. If its the seat design itself it might be worth trying a Volvo or C Class.

Some excellent suggestions there, thank you. The Ford's look very good value for the money. I like the look of the Volvo V60, the company has a good reputation for comfort.
