Hi all,

Looking for recommendations...

I currently drive a 2014 Fiesta ST, its great, but I'm pining after something with a good noise!

I'll have around 10k to spend.

Criteria: less than 80,000 miles ish.
More than 200hp
Manual

Do your worst....

Thanks smile

BMW 130i. You can get nice ones for about half your budget (maybe a bit more for really nice ones). N/A, 3.0 260bhp, RWD.

I am biased, mind!

Boxster, 350z, Golf R32, BMW Z4, AUDI MK2 TT, BMW E46 330I.

You can set your search parameters on the Pistonheads classifieds to filter down to exactly what you are looking for - loads of cars for sale which fit your criteria.

ETA - Boxster would be my choice wink

But is shape further away than the wrong (right) amount of cylinders?

They are great.

You'll notice quite a jump in running costs after the Fiesta, some will be £550 RFL.

Audi TT V6 Mk1 manual, a rare car, should hold value well if kept lowish mileage.

Audi TT V6 Mk2 manual, not quite as rare.

Z4 coupe as mentioned.

350Z, they make a lovely noise, but poor mpg.

A few others as mentioned, but there's a good chance you'll be back in a Fiesta ST after a year, a real sharp car with low running costs.

Having bought one - and it's not for sale.

MR2 with 3.0 V6 Camry engine fitted

It's a relatively common conversion with a couple of Co. offering it - good cars are available from £3500 upwards and it sounds epic.

Or a Boxster, 350Z

If you need 4 seats then the E46 M3, R34 Skyline GTS

Something on the lines of the shed of the week Alfa, with a Busso V6. Maybe a Gta if you can source one. Won’t get a nicer noise than that.

This is what I'm worried about. It costs me zilch to run, is as fast as my friends 130i and another friends R32 golf and is holding it's value really well!

335i is where my money would be going, or if you'd be open to the mileage, an E46 M3 comes in budget:

I also have a mk7 fiesta st. The sound is very uninspiring and ive been close to swapping it myself for a v6. However after tons of research all the cars i found were either:

Heavy
Poor MPG
Expensive tax
Not well rated handling wise
Didnt come with many gadgets inside
Were too bulky.

I decided to keep my st as its just mental tbh. 230bhp in a small car which handles like its on rails and has amazing handling. Also loooks the part. Dont swap.

Got bored of my Fiesta same as yours so sold it, bought an ep3 type R and put a deposit on a house instead.

To answer your question however id consider something Japanese like posted above, should hold its "value" well but I'm not convinced the market is there for 9k toyota chasers and cable ties holding the front bumper together.
Might take a while to find a buyer once you want to move on?
Something to consider.
