I am confused by the warranty situation.
I read plenty of posts on this thread that say not having a warranty is a massive risk, but then I also read that as you are 'buying a service' from the leasing company, any issues whatsoever should be sorted out between the leasing co. and the servicing garage.
Which is correct?
The lease holder (I.e. you) are responsible for maintenance. So, if it breaks outside of the OEM warranty period and the engine blows up, the lease company will still be expecting a working car returned at the end of the term. Adding ‘maintenance’ to the lease won’t help here, that will only cover routine servicing (and sometimes some specified consumables).
Not sure if it’s possible to buy OEM warranty extensions for leased cars. I guess it is, same as for other finance methods.
Well after lurking here for the past few months, taking all the excellent advice on board about not having a particular car in mind, going for the best deal regardless of make etc, I set about my shortlist of the following;
3+35, 20k p.a. £350-£400 per month and over the weekend test drove:
Volvo S90 T4 momentum pro £1051 up front, £350 a month, 7.56p excess miles and purchase a 3 service pack for £399
Peugeot 3008 GT line premium £1072 up front, £357 a month
Kia Proceed 1.6 GDI GT £1099 up front £366 a month, service plan for 5 services £788, 5.68p a mile excess.
However while I was in the Kia dealership there was a Stinger 2.0 turbo GT line S and I went for a spin in it....
FFS. I'm now going to FTK on one in Ceramic Grey with red leather at £1371.96 up front, £457.32 a month, It's got 6000 mile service intervals, so it'll need 10 (10!) over the contract although I can stump up £909 for the first 6, and an excess mileage of 7.78p
I'll get my coat...
All I can do is apologise! (It was brilliant though!)

Anyone know of any good Golf R Estate deals? (Or maybe GTE / GTD).
I’ve always fancied one, they were always mentioned to me as being surprisingly cheap to lease, but I’m looking at 2 year old cars a £500 a month on a PCP.
I’ve not bought a car in 10 years, I’m justing switching from a company car to an allowance so complete clueless and don’t have much of a deposit to use.
