Regarding warranty chat, this from VWFS website means I think I'll be extending my GTD into year four:

"Vehicle warranty is three years and does extend if you extend the agreement"

Anyone know of any good Golf R Estate deals? (Or maybe GTE / GTD).

I’ve always fancied one, they were always mentioned to me as being surprisingly cheap to lease, but I’m looking at 2 year old cars a £500 a month on a PCP.

I’ve not bought a car in 10 years, I’m justing switching from a company car to an allowance so complete clueless and don’t have much of a deposit to use.
Good deals seem to come up every 6-12 months or so, but the offers at the moment are circa £575 per month amortised, which is rubbish considering a few of us were fortunate enough to secure them at ~£340/month amortised in March!

If i was in your position i'd settle with a Leon Cupra Sport Tourer (Estate) for £350/month, which is an almost identical car to the Golf R. The broker below also posts on this forum as wessexfleet
https://leasing.com/independent-brokers/carleasesp...
https://carleasespecialoffers.co.uk/car/product/85...

If you're new to leasing just make sure you specify a suitable annual mileage.

This deal is on their website, described as "MY17 free option and paint offer". Gap waiver included.

So tempted by the Stelvio but can't get over the design. Pretty low quality interior and looks like it's on stilts. frown

Would you have a Mercedes A250 AMG line Auto or a Mini Cooper S 5 door manual and why?

A250 every time. The Mini could well be more fun but for everything else the Merc will be superior. Good performance, excellent interior, plenty of space for 4, decent auto box and better built.

The wife has had a 2015 Mini Countryman Cooper S for the past 12 months and we can't wait to get rid of it. I hear the newer models are better but would have to be a hell of an improvement to get close to the overall package the new A Class offers.

That'll be because it's an impressive car that's had some very tempting leasing offers available. Don't see why that would be considered an issue personally?

oh I understand why, but I just think it's prestige is damaged when they are as common as a ford focus (based on sales since figures jan 1st)

The spec is very good

NP. thumbup

Pretty sure there was a good deal on the A250 AMG with the Premium pack a few pages back. With that fitted the gap gets even wider.

The Mini would be a pure "style" choice, a decision my wife has been regretting for the past year. smile

Just been on the configurator. Looks stunning in the metallic green, then I saw the interior pics. Dead standard, seen better in cheaper SUVs! Just look at that central console area!

Was proper tempted by this deal too. Oh well, hunt goes on.

I'd go and have a look at one in the flesh TBH. The interior isn't up to current Audi/BMW/MB standards but is better than the configurator makes it look and by all accounts the driving experience is supposed to be very good indeed.

Fair point actually... Also as someone mentioned earlier these deals are on a MY17 pre-reg which means its pretty much 2 years old so any MY19 or MY18 improvements wont be reflected in these older ones.

Pretty peak deal to be honest although I usually go for 24 month leases so who am I to say it’s bad?

The value of the lease should really be calculated using a 24 month lease term. Not sure of the best way to work out a 36 month one.

That's interesting. I'm guessing they are totally not selling.
