If youre not earning salary through the business, would you be affected by BIK wink

I’m not sure on that one, I presume but don’t quote me but you would have to setup PAYE so you can submit the BIK at year end.

First post in this thread, saw this and thought it was bloody cheap, even bigger miles wasn't horrendous.

https://leasing.com/independent-brokers/leasing-go...

(Deal now shows as gone, but the other stuff they're listing seems good value https://leasing.com/independent-brokers/leasing-go... )

I wouldn’t be surprised if all of those offers are click bait in the 63’s - they’re pretty cheap from my understanding of things. If not, great find - let us know if you have any joy with them.

Yes, you would (normally) be affected.

UNLESS you had NO earnings from anywhere and just received car, THEN you might pay no tax on it. You would however have to declare car/BIK on your self assessment tax return and declare on your companies P11d return.

Company supplied cars are classed as a 'benefit in kind' to you (BIK) you are receiving something of value other than cash, essentially your company car is treated as though you received £xxxxx (varies based on list price, co2, your tax rate etc) so if its BIK value takes you above your tax free threshold you end up paying tax on the £xxxxx value of the car when it's added to all your others earnings.

FYI: Reduction in zero emissions BIK rate from 16% this year, to 2% next year should see a few more people jumping into 'leccy cars through their companies (I did this with an i3 when the BIK rate was 0%)

NOTE: I am not a financial advisor and the above is not financial advice and may be wrong wink

so after much deliberation I FTK on a 508 GT Line 1.6L PureTech 180 EAT8 S&S in Hurricane Grey from my local dealership on a 6 + 23 @ £224.26 so £6503 over the term with 8k miles (£271 amortised). Works out to be 22% so not a bad deal. Had the lead time for the S90 not been so long I would prob have gone for that but happy overall. Should keep us ticking over for a couple of years!

You should add that it can only be transferred to company, which means huge BIK.

Oh yes you’re right. Got my maths wrong. Divided by 18 not 24.

Toureg on a 2 year lease works out to £575 amortised (including fees). Total lease cost £13,802

XC90 on a 2 year lease works out to £587 amortise. Total lease cost £14,099

XC90 is £300 more expensive over the term. Decisions decisions. Which one would you guys go for????

XC90 also comes with free metallic paint.

Help! Lol
Drive them both and see what you think. The Touareg is the same price as the old model was on the same terms 3 years ago (I know as I nearly bought one!) so I'd say it's a great price. XC90 much cheaper than it was 3 years ago!
Would the Santander deals not be better value? Xc90 is £599/mth 0+18, 10k, or the XC60 for £499

The Touareg works out c.£300 cheaper than the XC90. Nothing in it really. I’m spending this weekend deciding which one to go for. advantage of the VW is that it is a stock car so no need to wait until September to get delivery of the car

When are you getting it? Really like the look of them but haven’t seen one in person yet. Put some pictures up when you get it!

Just a quick question. My Mercedes GLE lease deal (which I found because of this thread) is up in August 2020, when is the best time to start looking for a new deal in preparation?

Also has anyone asked for the lease to be extended and if so how does it work? I.e do you have to pay a certain amount of months upfront again and are they normally the same monthly’s?

Thanks in advance. Christian.

This one?

https://www.stablevehiclecontracts.co.uk/cars/volk...

Doesnt seem too bad. Is there much additional spec above the base model? Parents dont need the engine, but wondering if like the Audi "S" cars additional spec makes them a good deal on lease over adding spec to a standard car.

Had a quick look, seems mostly exterior extras would be of interest. Not sure they'd like the cloth seats.
