Hi all

been a lurker on the thread for a while, my Seat Leon FR deal isn't due until Jan so no major rush for me yet to start looking.
I will however be looking at a cupra, M140i, maybe A35 and a X1. M140i would be ideal though.

I have been on the sites and trying to calculate what a good deal may be. my current deal is over 30 months. From when i look online i usually look at 24 or 36 month deals. does the % change depending on the length of the deal or is it >20% over any term which makes it decent?

Cheers,

Been told to avoid 1.5 Evo engine.
I know some one who collected the car on Friday and already got an error message relating to clutch. Also advised the car is a bit jumpy at certain points.

Might want to get an order in for M140i very soon if it's what you're really after. They will be stopping production of that model in the coming weeks, some dealers have already stopped taking orders.

Exactly the same here. I had warned my mate about the problems with this engine, but he went ahead anyway.I went with him to collect his new Karoq last week, but on the drive home he was devastated to find that his car was suffering the same problems. I told him to turn around and go straight back to the garage and reject the car. When we got back to the dealer they came out with all sorts of bks about it must just have happened, a loose wire/software update/we'll get it sorted for you etc. When I chimed in with my knowledge of documented proof of the problems concerning this engine, they went quiet. Mate rejected the car and then followed up with a recorded delivery letter of official rejection. Dealer is trying to play silly buggers, but I've told my mate to stand firm. I have a friend who is a high level corporate lawyer who is more than happy to advise free of charge on the matter and said they will write a letter if needed. Just need to see what happens. Until they sort out the ongoing problems, I wouldn't going near that engine. People might come on here and have a go at me saying that their car is fine, but it doesn't change the fact that a fair few people are having problems which are ongoing and are having to put up with one excuse after another.

I'm amazed that such an obvious issue doesn't come up in testing? How does that happen?

What are people's opinions on this deal?

Peugeot 508 GT-Line 1.6 8 speed auto
PCH
£222/month on a 3+23 term inc VAT
5k pa
11ppm excess mileage inc VAT
Solid paint, no optional extras
£5772 over the term
OTR price is £31.6k

8k pa is about £20 more per month. Based on 8k pa, I work it out @ 20% of RRP.

It comes with a very decent spec: heated front seats, digital cockpit, large-ish HD infotainment screen with nav/apple carplay/android auto, wireless mobile charging, blindspot detection, front and rear parking sensors, reversing camera, 18 inch alloys, power fold mirrors, auto lights/wipers, auto emergency braking, lane assistance, etc.

Badge and looks aside (which I don't mind) I think it's one of the better deals we've seen, no? Early talks with the dealership but if other people are interested then I will ask their permission first before posting details on here.

I may well be interested as it's the auto. But would need nearer 12k to 15k miles l. Any chance you could PM me the dealer and contact details?

Also, any idea of lead time as I'm looking for October so not in a rush.

Works out at ~23% of RRP at 10,000 miles. Still pretty good.

frown Literally just placed an order today for an Ateca with this engine!

Any links to documented problems?

Deal was 6+23 @ £198 (10k miles) from Vertu. ~25% list so not amazing but cheap enough and suits our needs.

Check out TRL’s sponsored section of the Babybmw forum. He’s usually the best, and by all accounts good to deal with. His recent 140i deals have been pretty unbearable with about £10k ‘assistance’.

Urgh, my GF has given me the annoyingly non specific requirements of a 5 door reliable car that's under £200 a month.

There's a Seat Leon FR Sport 1.5 available for £197 on 3+47. The FR Sport trim seems to come with a good selection of gadgets (cruise, climate, nav, parking sensors, etc) so it should be a nice place to be even it's it's not fast or exciting. Any reason we shouldn't go for it (before you ask the 3 year deals are considerably more money).
seems fine other than the fact that's its a 4 year deal so you'll have to sort out warranty etc, people were having problems with the 1.5 engine so just check up on that, just for comparison i got the 1.4 150bhp for 200 a month amortized yours works out to 209 a month, but times change.
Indeed times do change. She's rolling out of a Polo GTi that was £180 a month. Hopefully the creature comforts in the Leon make up for the lack of power.

Good call on the warranty, I hadn't considered that. The 3 year deals are considerably more so it's still cheaper to sort out a warranty.

One of many just search 1.5 Evo Problems. I was going to order same car and fellow member on this forum alerted me to this issue.
Btw the guy who warned me works for the dealership. I requested PCH quote from him and he replied with following:

‘“Also on the 1.5 - I've just got one to drive as a company car for a bit and its giving me error messages....to do with clutch and it is a bit jumpy at certain points so I need it looked at! I collected it on Friday afternoon.”

I’ve been considering one of the 420 gran coupe deals that’ve been kicking about the usual sites for a while. I’m concerned they’re getting a bit long in tooth though and might not be comparable with other offerings. Not seen the 4 series offers get much attention - are they worth a punt?

I've looked at a couple of those deals myself, a BMW without a 6 doesn't feel right though

I'm hovering over the Leon Cupra deals as I think it'd be amusing for 24 months but was really hoping for a Golf R deal

Anyone seen the 3 Series Touring Shadow Edition for less than £9432 over 24 months @ 8k miles?

Any idea if they're due a refresh soon, like the A4 in June?
