Just had a quote back for increasing my mileage allowance on my ALD XC60 £215pm for 5k pa to 7.5k pa.

With 7 months left to pay, my monthly cost would go up to, er... £882pm.

It’s a toughy, but think I’m going to stick with paying the excess mileage.

I’ve been looking around for awhile but nothing else has quite come up to the Arteon at this price anyway. The 508 is close and still thinking about it, if it had that red leather interior as standard I would have FTK as they say in these parts. maybe should have grabbed the A250 but it just didn’t grab me and they are absolutely everywhere and that put me off then it was too late. I’m a bit stuck as in a loop of eternal short informal extensions so unless something is pretty much in stock it’s hard to cancel unless another VW group car. Part of me just wants the Arteon now having waited this long anyway.

Car plus the option pack comes in at £35,710
(£421 * 24) + £360 = £10,464

Works out to about 29% - Not as bad as I thought, but mainly because I didn't think these sunroof and stickers CLAs were climbing past £35k!

9x23 at 5k miles which is enough for me.

Initial: £3211
Admin fee: £180

Depends on the manufacturer. I believe it is difficult to get any meaningful discount off a Porsche for example.

Mercs, BMWs, Audis etc discounts galore.

I suppose having a high RRP as a starting point at least gives the manufacturer/dealer scope for varying degrees of support and discount and also the ability to claim that a discount is big. It also means they make a big margin from those who don't drive a hard bargain. Of course the RRP is also what some regard as the "prestige" behind driving a particular vehicle even if it didn't cost that

I've FTK'd on the Cupra 290 deal recently with Nationwide Vehicle Contracts. Unfortunately my work situation could be changing soon which will mean I may have to survive with one car instead of 2. I haven't signed anything yet, but I have paid the 198 deposit. I'm guessing there's no way of getting that back?

For regulated credit broking agreements cancelled after 14 calendar days, the following cancellation fees will apply:
- If you cancel your order before your sign your Contract Hire or Personal Contract Hire agreement, a cancellation fee of £50 inc VAT will be retained by Nationwide Vehicle Contracts to cover all costs and expenses incurred in arranging the credit hire agreement up to that point. This fee will be deducted from the £198 inc VAT processing fee (otherwise known as the brokerage fee) paid by the customer at point of order.
- If you cancel your credit hire agreement after you have signed your Contract Hire or Personal Contract Hire agreement, Nationwide Vehicle Contracts will retain the full processing fee of £198 inc VAT (otherwise known as the brokerage fee) to cover all costs and expenses incurred in arranging the credit hire agreement.

Morning all,

Hope you can offer a little help for a newbie to the forum and a likely first time outing in the world of PCH.

Further to Imdeman87's recent post I have agreed a deal in principle on the following:

Peugeot 508 Fastback GT Line 1.6L PureTech 180 EAT8 S&S
15,000 miles pa
£1100 upfront and then 23 x £300pm (all incl VAT) so £8,000 incl over the 2 year term.

Appreciate that it is much more than Imdeman87 was due to pay (£5772) but this is the best I could find on decent car at high mileage.

Can anyone tell me if this is a good one or not?

Had one as a courtesy car when my (now gone) Leon Cupra was in for service.

Was actually quite impressed with it as a slightly nippy hatchback. Economy was impressive as you say. I got about 50mpg on a typical 40 mile commute to Manchester the day I had it.

Even better than that, a few weeks ago in Italy I had a Leon Estate petrol/methane hybrid. It would run on purely methane unless you floored it, economy not amazing (prob around 30-40mpg) but it only cost the equivalent of £15 to fill it up (the methane tank) and would easily do 250 miles on that. Plus the added bonus that it sounded like a lawnmower which was amusing.
