Morning all,
Hope you can offer a little help for a newbie to the forum and a likely first time outing in the world of PCH.
Further to Imdeman87's recent post I have agreed a deal in principle on the following:
Peugeot 508 Fastback GT Line 1.6L PureTech 180 EAT8 S&S
15,000 miles pa
£1100 upfront and then 23 x £300pm (all incl VAT) so £8,000 incl over the 2 year term.
Appreciate that it is much more than Imdeman87 was due to pay (£5772) but this is the best I could find on decent car at high mileage.
Can anyone tell me if this is a good one or not?
Appreciate any assistance
OP here...based on your mileage and the car itself/spec, I think it's a good deal and can't see anything similar out there.Hope you can offer a little help for a newbie to the forum and a likely first time outing in the world of PCH.

One thing to potentially look into, is going for 5k pa instead and paying the excess mileage at the end. I think with the 508 deal, excess mileage is 11.4ppm inct VAT. Now, assuming un-tiered rates of excess mileage, an extra 20k miles would cost you £2280 at the end of the contract. So you would pay around £5800 (for the lease - 10k miles) plus the £2280 at the end - approx. £80 more over the term. I know circumstances with jobs/relationships/finance/health etc. can change, so this may be a better option. Plus you could offset the extra £80 over the term by putting the 'savings' you make on the monthlies in a high interest rate current account.
Other than that, I still think it's a good deal regardless of what mileage term you choose.
On a side note, the car has KITT-like lights from Knight Rider, which was the deciding factor on FTK.

Can I ask if you took the Hurricane Grey or if you opted for a metallic colour. If the latter - did they charge you though the nose?
Guy at Stoneacre advised that metallic paint choice was included in price yesterday and today he is saying it's +£24per month!! Extremely frustrating!!

I've been offered by my local dealer (White Dove Cardiff)
Leon ST FR 150 1.5TSI
1+35 @ £270 a month, 10k per annum.
I'm coming out of a Company Car and can't touch my savings at the moment so can't do much in the way of a deposit.
Sounds okay to me? (Kangaroo notwithstanding).
I'd like the FR Sport model with or without the 190 TSI engine, but I'm told the engine has been discontinued and Sports are very rare.
I'd love to know if that's a good deal, I've never leased before, never 'bought' a new car before and haven't bought a car at all in years.

Have a look on what car and give a dealers a ring. As I'm sure they can change the profile to suit you.

Been a while since I lurked - hope you can help
Coming up on a year since I got my Volvo V90 (Registration date 30/06/18) on a 24 month contract through Santander
I'm due my first service and understand that I can go up to four weeks past the registration date for this. My question is, if say I get it serviced second week of July, does the service indicator then prompt me for a service one year after that? In other words, I would have handed the car back before the second service was due, or will I be expected to service it again before its returned on 30/06/20?
I appreciate this may have been asked a million times already, but any advice gratefully received
Thanks
If you go into the left-hand page on the Sensus display and look at the service requirements, there is a countdown in days remaining until the service is due. You can go up to 30 days beyond this date and it will reset to 365 days remaining after the service. (In fact, I got my dealer to do a manual reset before I drove the car away as the PDI had been done 3 months before and it was showing 235 days until due! After the reset, it in fact showed 360 days, but I wasn't going to quibble about the missing 5).

Cheers mate, great advice and all taken on board. Might do the same.

No problem. We went for Hurricane Grey as it's the only no-cost option. Metallic does add around £24 per month as you say. I think Daniel's been inundated with requests/quotes on the new 508 deal hence the mistake. Can I ask if you took the Hurricane Grey or if you opted for a metallic colour. If it's of any help, I phoned another 3 Peugeot dealerships and spoke to their fleet department, none of them could match/improve on the offer. One said the 'other dealership must be doing something dodgy with that quote'... I'm personally not a fan of that technique. Other 2 dealerships were £5-£10 more per month.
My A4 is up in October and after receiving an extension quote £75pm more than I am currently paying I am now looking elsewhere.
With regards the Santander scheme I take it you need an account with them (not a huge issue to open one, if so).
Their Mazda 6 deal looks quite interesting. Anyone any experience of one?

Depends on the manufacturer. I believe it is difficult to get any meaningful discount off a Porsche for example.
Mercs, BMWs, Audis etc discounts galore.
I suppose having a high RRP as a starting point at least gives the manufacturer/dealer scope for varying degrees of support and discount and also the ability to claim that a discount is big. It also means they make a big margin from those who don't drive a hard bargain. Of course the RRP is also what some regard as the "prestige" behind driving a particular vehicle even if it didn't cost that
Always managed to knock a fair chunk of everyone but Porsche. Unless its a run out model, the VED and perhaps a bit more is the best they seem to do.Mercs, BMWs, Audis etc discounts galore.

Inflated RRP's don't help when it comes to BIK or VED supplement for cars over £40k. Pretty annoying being taxed on the RRP, when in practice the price of the car maybe £10k less :/

Does the service interval kick in as soon as you hit every 10K Miles, or is it just done by days elapsing?(In fact, I got my dealer to do a manual reset before I drove the car away as the PDI had been done 3 months before and it was showing 235 days until due! So say I went past 10K but there was 50 days remaining, would it tell me I needed a service or just keep counting down the days?
If it is the latter, would I be in trouble with the garage (I’m direct with a main dealer) for not getting bit serviced at the 10K point?
Just trying to weight up the pros and cons of trying to avoid the second service (as I’m on 24 month contract) or, if I definitely need to do it because of my mileage, should I try and get them to sell me the £399 three year service plan?

I am in the same boat. Balancing that, mortgage, do you take a loan for car, does PCP or PCH look best on credit file etc. Minefield!
The less open lines of credit you have the better. Cancel any unused credit cards. And if you think the application might be tight run a banger until it gets through.P-Jay said:

Ordered from Select Car Leasing, hoping to have it in around 3 weeks time.
Long time lurker on this excellent form but just FTK on my third lease car a Volvo S60 T5 R design edition on a 9+17 deal at £256 a month (8k miles) with Mill North East Volvo. Car is being delivered next thursday. I know its not as cheap as the S90 but that car is just a bit to big. So this will be my first Volvo after previously having the Alfa Guila Veloce and Audi A4. As it has only just been released havent seen any on the roads yet.
I just got my Leon Cupra 290 delivered earlier than expected, I was told sometime in June. The car’s come with almost 300 miles on it! I wish they could’ve just delivered it on the back of a truck but I guess it’s one of those things, as long as it doesn’t come out of the mileage allowance I’ll get over it.
my car is saying inspection due after having done 20k miles although this is 6 months before its due service date (need to extend mileage allowance), how long can i wait until it needs to go in, already done around 400 miles over, called them but they said services are down, would i get fined for not doing it as soon as possible?
