You get 100L of extra boot space, though that's pretty much vertically.
Driving wise, you may be quicker launching than a 2WD Cupra but past that you're fighting aero dynamics and physics, it's not a quicker car.
The handling is also obviously compromised with the higher centre of gravity, I've just given back my LC and have driven the Ateca, it's an SUV with less comfort.
https://www.carbuyer.co.uk/reviews/cupra/ateca/suv...
"However, while the Ateca acquits itself well on a country lane, if you were hoping for the kind of engagement you'd experience in a SEAT Leon Cupra or SEAT Ibiza Cupra, you'll be rather disappointed. The Cupra Ateca always feels bulky, and its steering has no more feel than in the standard Ateca SUV. It's certainly fast, but can't come close to matching a hot hatchback in terms of sheer fun."
Yawn. If you prefer the Leon then fine, no need to try convince by linking to reviews - which are subjective either way. The Ateca suits a slightly different market - yes I've been in both and the Ateca is a MUCH more family friendly car, it feels MUCH roomier and has decent performance. Regarding the boot (as you mentioned it) it's nowhere near as deep so much better for dogs getting in/out etc... It just feels MUCH more car and IMO is MUCH more comfortable and quieter inside. Not saying the Leon is a bad car by any means.Driving wise, you may be quicker launching than a 2WD Cupra but past that you're fighting aero dynamics and physics, it's not a quicker car.

Anyway each to their own. My search continues...

Saw this this morning, seems a bargain for an in stock Octavia Estate
Skoda Octavia Estate SE L 2.0TDI 1+35 at £201.79

I thought my SE Tech at £229 was a good deal, tempted to see if i can change, but then i'd have to sort my own tow bar and spare wheel
Is this a good deal for 3 years? 10,00 miles is good, £300 processing fee!Skoda Octavia Estate SE L 2.0TDI 1+35 at £201.79

Total for 3 years is about £7500. Is this car about £20k brand new? Whats likely depreciation after 3 years - £10k?
My sister's 24-month lease on her DS3 is up soon so she's asked me to find her replacement.. She wants something similar size / price, will be okay with 5k miles, ideally 1 or 3 months up front.
Spotted this DS3 Crossback on Leasing.com:

Total lease cost is £2,199 which is around 9.3% of list price. Does that still work out as good value if it's only a 12 month lease? My thinking is you'd lose more than 9.3% in a year if you paid cash for the thing.. Road tax included, no maintenance but her current DS3 was 6k for its first service so she should miss that.. Seems pretty cheap for a year of a new car..

I'm in my thirties and I have just passed my test in May. (automatic license)
I can't afford a car, but could afford a lease at the lower end. Really wanted a Diesel but seems a bit of a unicorn 'cheap, diesel and automatic'. Best I've found so far is Renault Clio at 169 a month, but it's a bit expensive unless you guys think it would be worth it.
The other idea was to just get a cheap petrol lease like a Corsa or something. (Yuck I know, but they're cheap and insurance would be cheaper too)
Any advice or help would be appreciated.

Without knowing your mileage, budget, and your willingness to pay an initial it's hard to highlight anything too specific, but something like that might be a good motor for you?
Obviously you can choose any traditional auto, or a DSG. Looking at cars in stock at the lower end/diesel/auto there's a Octavia's, Karoq's, Fiat 500's and the link above. There were also some half decent prices on Leon FR's lately.
Ended up using Leaseloco more and more due to the filters being so much better, even just small things like selecting multiple makes and models in the one go. Have so say, though, requirement of an auto box on a cheap car is a tough combo. Fiat 500 looks to be the cheapest you'll get.... https://www.leaseloco.com/car-leasing/fiat/500/12-...
I appreciate you taking the time to look. I don't think I can drive a Fiat 500. I'm not super fussy on looks, like the Honda Jazz the other user recommended I'd be happy to drive, but the Fiat 500 is just a bit too odd looking, don't you think?
To answer the other user. I'm honestly not sure of mileage as I haven't been driving yet, but I do work from home. Initial would have to be quite low honestly. Unfortunately as much as I dislike the Fiat above it comes closest to what I want price wise. Maybe I should suck it up and get the Fiat. I'm guessing it would be cheap to insure as well?

Stick your details into a comparison site and get a quote for insurance, if you're not sure on mileage and you work from home just put in 5000 miles. To answer the other user. Still struggling to find anything with decent space and 250bhp+ for max £300 on 1+23 10k miles...
V90 deal might have appealed more if it was the T5, so Arteon is still best option so far at £293 but only 190bhp and SE spec.
Found this in stock manual hatchback Octavia vRS 245 for about £299 if anyone is interested. No good for me as current Cupra goes in December and would prefer the estate.
