Abarth 124 Lease deals.

Bit of a long shot here...but I'm just trying to check if I'm going crazy or not. I am convinced that last night there were some 124 deals on leasing.com for £199 per month and 3 months initial. I was considering this overnight (to replace the existing 124 I have) and the prices seem to have gone up substantially. Did anyone else note those prices by any chance?
I saw similar last night too. I would not trust Mangoletsi to be honest. I have spoken to them on the phone and there are lot's of promises but no results. They also deliberately keep adverts up even when there is no stock to honor it.

Good prices though if willing to put up with the way the seem to operate.

Morning All,

I mentioned before I had a GLA on order which got pushed back so I went for something else. I asked the other day if I could get the GLA order transferred into my fathers name as he wants to take on that deal but their response was "keep it in your name, makes no difference to us". I went back saying that isn't ideal, I don't want 2 leases against my name as I may be looking to get a mortgage soon and I don't want that to affect it. Below is his response - sounds like sales BS to me but wanted to see what you guys thought.

'Our personal contract hire offers are leased to you by our own leasing company Arnold Clark vehicle management and is not going through a finance company.
Therefore, there is no credit search of you at our end, the lease does not appear on your credit file and also does not affect your ability to obtain credit in the future and will also not be visible to a mortgage company on your credit file.'

My understanding was that the lease amount would be against my name so lets say 7k for my lease and then another 7k for this lease so effectively 14k in total - is that correct?
That is flat out rubbish, someone somewhere is funding the vehicle and you will be credit checked as a part of the proposal process.
My lease doesn't appear on my credit file - it's pretty much the same as if I rang up Enterprise and asked to rent a car for 2 years, I'm not borrowing any money. Although it's not 'borrowing' there is still a credit check although I would imagine this is mainly to confirm you're who you say you are and aren't a financial basket-case so a search should appear on your file.

Although you're not borrowing any money, a mortgage lender will expect you to be honest about financial commitments and regular monthly outgoings which would clearly include your £200-300/month lease contract. If you have to show your bank statements etc then this would be very evident and easily cross-referenced by the lender.

I was under the impression that the total amount of the lease goes against your name? This has only come up because the 'deal' cant be transferred into my fathers name and the salesman has suggested I just keep it in my name and my dad makes the payments. This will mean I will have 2 leases against my name (I have ordered something else for myself) which I don't mind as I trust my father but if I wanted to get a mortgage in the next year or so will this come back to bite me ie look unfavorable on me.

My VWFS lease was on my credit file for the value of the lease - I have heard some companies putting the full value of the car on there - maybe Mercedes? Not sure though.

Hi Simon,

Was that also maintained? your options add 2k to the list price and you usually have the pleasure of paying that over the term yourself... so that was a good deal you got i think. Or I am getting a bad deal

I’ve just ordered an A250 AMG Line through Perth Mercedes.

I know I shouldn’t have but I added the premium pack that includes the 2 x 10” screens, heated seats, parking assist, upgraded stereo etc.

35 + 6
8k
£278 pm
Solid colour - metallic adds about £13 pm but I was happy with white.

Standard car with Metallic worked out at £268 so my man maths tells me the PP cost a tenner a month !
This looks like a great deal! Is this deal visible online or did you have to call the dealership?

It sounds like lease companies take potentially different approaches then. Mine categorically doesn't appear on my credit file at all - and nor should it as I'm not financing anything; it is the leasing company who finance the vehicle and then rent it to me. The leasing company did a credit check to make sure there were no issues with me financially and that I in a position to make the payments.

Have you checked your credit reports with equifax, experian and callcredit?

My santander lease shows on 2 of the 3 but not the third. My lease before that showed on only one of them.

We have a golf and an octavia both in my name and both via VWFS, just checked my file and the searches are there from when the applications were approved (August 18 / December 18 respectively) but there is no ongoing record and payment history (or lease or car value), just the initial search - which seems odd.

No not maintained mate. It was a decent deal. What about this, it is through VWFS directly and has the tech pack. £2700 and £300.
https://www.fleetprices.co.uk/personal-lease-cars/...

I would take this and then half way through the lease call VWFS and get some extra miles alot cheaper than going for the 10k miles.

Before someone pipes up by directly I mean it is funded by them with FP as the broker.

hmm, that averages out to £400 a month and has 8k miles.

maybe my deal isnt that bad afterall...
my deal is over three years averages out to £426 a month and has maintenance, not fussed about tech pack tbh m8. i think £26 for maintenance isnt too bad and welcome over 3 years where it will have at least 2 services and probably 4 tyres and maybe breaks

Thanks for the info. I'll not get too excited just yet then. could be a few weeks away.

I'm in East Anglia so will have to await a delivery slot. Bit of a slog to Leeds!
Just FYI as well but the delivery email tells me I have to have the car insured at least two days before delivery date and send them proof of this.

Not exactly sure why this is.

Worth trying Sturgess Leicester as although they only had options loaded cars, they gave me a cheaper quote than Mangoletsi.

Paint, Bose & Vis Pack, 8k miles, 4+23 £250/mth

They messed up a non Vis Pack order for me so claim this is discounted. Was a couple of weeks ago so not sure if they have any left

On the opposite side, my wife and i both have lease cars (have had 5 over the years all with ALD and Arval) and none have shown on our credit files or on the search history. Strange how it differs so much!!
