When I handed back my GTD, I got the car valeted and put a good half tank of fuel in.
I had really badly scuffed diamond cut alloys on pretty much all the wheels and there was a couple of nicks that I could say was no fair wear and tear. When the guy came to do the inspection, he told me he really appreciated the cleaning and leaving him with a good amount of fuel to get to the auction and told me not to worry about the damages. Didnt get charged a penny. Was expecting a decent sized bill.
Sometimes it pays not to be so stingy.
Same. Last 2 x lease cars have been valeted and left at least 1/4 tank of fuel in it.I had really badly scuffed diamond cut alloys on pretty much all the wheels and there was a couple of nicks that I could say was no fair wear and tear. No charge on hand back.
In my eyes it does make a difference to keep the inspector happy.
We had a Qashqai on a two year lease 4/5 years ago. I had it fully valeted and fuelled for collection. The paint and bodywork was mint without a dent or scratch in sight.
The alloys however were curbed quite badly (wife’s car ) which I expected we’d get charged for, but the drivers seat bolster leather was also flaking off which to me is a manufacturing fault and I should of highlighted it earlier and got it fixed under warranty.
Anyway I was charged £50 per wheel and £200 for the seat!
In your case I would have also questioned the fee for the seatbelt with the lease company.

Happened to my gormless mate one year. Never leased before. Got a boggo Ford Focus SE. Thought he was getting a RS. Should've seen his face when it got delivered...
The fact I am recalling this crap story in the lease forum just shows you how little there is to talk about this Quarter so far (Barring the 420i deal)
Haha great story! The fact I am recalling this crap story in the lease forum just shows you how little there is to talk about this Quarter so far (Barring the 420i deal)
Yeah my VW contact told me to get in touch mid-October as that is when the new campaign will be launched. We are there now so I'd expect to see some VAG offers coming through over the next few days...
Got a quote to extend my current Golf R Estate yesterday. Currently on £204 a month, 10k miles and put £3k down (£320 a month headline number) which I think was a very good deal back in Feb 2018. Quote to extend is £291 a month for another 12 months at 10k miles. Not what I was hoping for, but guess in a way its still not bad for another 12 months for a Golf R Estate.
The quote expires in a few days as my next payment is due. I'll get another quote towards end of this month and see.
Thoughts??

I hope there are some deals to be had soon. I opted not to jump on the BMW 420i GC deal as I need something cheaper due to an impending house move. Hopefully some sort of decent (and not too dull) estate deals will crop up soon. Failing that I'll be asking VWFS for a quote to extend the current vRS which is due to go back in Feb. I check back on this thread every day and gone are those heady days of seeing a new cracking deal or two every week. Now it seems to be one or two good deals per month!

I'm pretty much in the same boat as you. I've got a quote for a Seat Leon Estate FR Black Edition 1.5tsi 150 for £259 flat lined 1x23 10k but also holding out to see if there are better cars on offer. Might bite if I don't see anything by next week.

I fear we won’t be seeing many deals on “performance” cars like the Golf R etc. going forward.I check back on this thread every day and gone are those heady days of seeing a new cracking deal or two every week. Now it seems to be one or two good deals per month!

Those of you who have signed up for the 420i deal, how much of a deposit did you pay over the phone to secure the deal? I thought Lizzie mentioned it would be £500 now (£1000 in total once I receive the car), however I have already been charged the £1000
Was always stated to me as £1000 and that is what I've been chargedGassing Station | Car Buying | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
