What's out there? Just something fun for the odd rinse out and possibly the odd track day. I'd track my M5 but that would void the warranty.

Thanks in advance.

I'd be hesitant buying a turbo'd car for a grand - turbos seem to just add costs quickly when something goes wrong!

Strip it out, use the £150 to buy some cheap buckets.
Cheap plug in tuning box will see 200bhp (?)

at £1k you are pretty limited to VAG 1.8 20VT cars or maybe something a little leftfield like the Mitsubishi Colt CZT - a mate bought one a little while back for £650, whacked a bigger intercooler, cone filter, turbo down pipe & some slightly wider wheels on it and wow, what a riot - reminded me a lot of a Renault 5 Turbo only you could rag it around for longer than 10 minutes without breaking something!!!!!!

Audi TT?

Although for under a grand i'd just buy a clio 172/182 if it's for a track car.

Good all-round vision, space for spare tyres after all that shredding, unique head turner.

What more could one want?

Well they are RWDhehe

Along similar lines a car with space to take 4 mates, a toolbox, a set of spare wheels & the coolbox - are there any Volvo 740 Turbo Bricks still around?

Nope - all snapped up by 'the scene' because RWD and turbo and now 'cool'.

A mate of mine is selling a 2006 Seat Leon 2.0 TFSI for £800 and he's owned it around 8/9 years I think (might have already sold it by now, but not sure), but he's just got a company car. Done a few miles, but always had it serviced whenever due and new clutch/dmf a while back, 2 cambelt changes etc.

It's undervalued really as it's not a Cupra or anything special model-wise, but it's running around 230BHP remapped and has very good brakes as standard, so it's a great cheap "hooning" car.

I think for that sort of money, whatever you look at is likely to be a VAG car.
