Can you show me where the O/P gave the stipulation that it had to be the fastest in its class around a particular track?

OR that it had to have a specific level of equipment?

What makes the "best" hot hatch is very subjective. For me a big part of it is FUN.

We replaced our 2018 Cooper S with an M140i and frankly the M140i could push the Cooper S up the road, however the Cooper S is by far the more fun car.

The Cooper S and JCW are an absolute hoot to drive. A real fun car to own and you really drive them. A world of personality and BMW levels of build quality and service.

I'd personally recommend the JCW over the Cooper S for the extra power and the bigger brakes and then i'd stick a good tuning box on it which would take it to close to 300BHP.

Granted, once the O/P's friend drives one they may decide its not for them, based on their personal preferences, however it would be foolish not to suggest it as a prospective candidate.

I'd go fiesta personally.

Drive the deal quote an ST3 5door Performance Pack + sunroof for £20,224. Cheaper still if you only need a 3dr and absolutely fantastic to drive.
