Sold the car for 1300 advertised for 1800. Due to lack of service history which was on advert. Needed major service. Test drove with buyer..was very happy gone away. Later that day says hes having gearbox problems wants a refund. I didnt give receipt he paid cash do i have any rights or does he. Btw i drove car for 4 momths every day had no issues with it

The cynic in me says that he has swapped your decent box for the broken box in his old car and now wants a refund.

Reply that you’re sorry to hear that his car has developed an issue but there’s nothing you can do to help then block him.

He's trying it on. Seems to be more and more common these days.

Tell him you wont be paying to fix his car, and block his number.

Its an issue i never had with the car. Im far from a mechanic. Has he got any rights?

As long as you were honest in the advert then you have nothing to worry about.

If he wanted warranty he should have upped his budget and bought from a dealer.

87000 and counting on the clock on used to drive max 5 miles a day selling as dont need two cars. Scuffing on wheels all inside work origanal stereo. Has parcel shelf speakers i didnt fit. Some service history

What was his driving like in the test drive? He's either gone home ramming each gear in and screwed it or as said swapped it out.

You already gave him money towards any future costs by dropping £500 of the price tell him to not call you again about problems with his car.
