Hi,

As the title states really. I understand they are different cars, but I am trying to decide between the 2.

The Tigra is a 2005, only 12k miles, and is £550.

The Yaris T Sport is £600, 2001 and 100k miles.

I understand the Toyota is bit nippier and better build, but was wondering your thoughts on each.

Cheers

Any Tigra's left? I thought they had all rotted away

2005 Tigra is the folding hardtop? Cool and open top if it works, I'd go Yaris though.

Crikey, unless it's rusted away that's a bargain

Are they known to rot and be unreliable?

I haven't driven on myself but they're based on Corsa mechanicals (Corsa C) should be reasonably reliable and acceptable to potter about in, if not much fun when you want to press on. Still, if the roof works then you don't need to worry about AC!

Yaris is probably the superior car in every way but top down driving holds a huge appeal for some. It would be the Tigra for me.
For £500 definitely worth the risk. Besides Vauxhall's of this era really aren't that unreliable are they?

My Mrs has a 57 reg tiagra. Hateful horrible thing to drive. She likes it though.

The ones based on the Corsa C won't rust, but they are slower than the Corsa due to the weight of the roof which is why they only came in 1.4 and 1.8.

Eg, the Corsa 1.4 16v has a 0-60 time of 10 seconds, but it's 12 on the Tigra
