Going along with my last post, guys.. please, less life advice and more car advice laugh even if this doesnt happen for a few years I stlil want a drivers car that costs under 25k, and the people who are actually recommending me cars are giving me something to work towards in the USA if I don't get it now, it doesn't actually matter whether I buy it now or not, you're right, it is a bit stupid everything considered. BUT this thread prevents me from needing to make another one perhaps 2, 3, 4 or even 5 years down the line :P
I can now assume that you haven't even looked at what cars are available for £25k ($28750 presuming a 1.15 exchange rate) in the USA. I just spent almost three minutes checking out Porsche Cayman prices. Google is your friend, obv.

You can get a low mileage (for us in UK) Cayman S for well under $30,000 and if you want to go to an older model then sub $20k will do it. I see the 987.1 cars (Pre-2008/9) for around $16,000. I haven't checked the costs of an Evora but they may be a little more expensive and more difficult to service.

Bear in mind that in the US, high mileage is expected. It's a big place and they don't think twice about doing a long journey. If you buy a new car, the warranty is often 3 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes sooner!

In the UK at least, its cheaper to maintain and service an Evora at a Lotus dealer than it is to service a Cayman through a Porsche dealer. My average service is circa £350, although the last one meant plugs, drive belts and brake fluid so it was £1000.
