Like the look of the superb, but as with most of the MBQ platform, it doesn't look like they offer anything other than the 2.0tdi though, which would be slower than my golf with the extra weight.
They do a BiTDi Passat, but it looks boring frown

Was looking more at 335d's, E350's, A6 3.0TDis but was hoping to find a trim that may have the option ticked as standard.

On my 2010 Merc is called Distronic. You can tell visually by the large shiny black plate in the centre of the radiator grille.

Pretty rare I think.

Also, confusingly, i think it might have been sold as part of an options pack - seem to recall the Driving Assist Pack consisted of that, Lane Departure and something else.

Autotrader picks up on both words separately. Your list of 24,000 cars includes a £750 Renault that has Cruise control and Adaptive airbags.
More playing.

There are 480,508 cars on AutoTrader
If I select 'diesel' there are 222,649
If I select 'adaptive' in the little box there are 57,086
'Adaptive cruise' 46,006
'Adaptive cruise control' 45,917
'"Adaptive cruise control in quotes"' 20,130
"'Adaptive Cruise Control"' in quotes and 'diesel' there are 10,080.

I really don't know what to do with this information!
I guess OP could also try ACC. I think its down to how the advert has been written.

On a Merc.........the cruise stalk has a rotary bit on the end to set separation distance.
Brilliant! I never knew that. I'll have a play with that function today. The distance it's currently set at encourages every numpty to dive in.

Not much to add other that I feel your pain as I am in a very similar situation. Bought a new Golf 3 years ago with the Driver Assistance Pack which includes ACC,

Now looking at upgrading and it is a right pain in the ass finding cars for the exact same reason.

It is a comfort would struggle to live without now, I think if everyone knew exactly what it does they would be more inclined to select it as an option.

I would say at least 60% or more of my driving is done using ACC, mine works fine on single lane roads at anything from 30mph.

Less likely to break speed limits and less stressful by not having to maintain and adjust speed when stuck behind someone.

Is anyone else using in this way or do you just limit to motorway use?

Thanks much better now. It was set to the maximum distance - something like 50m . Now it's half that.

Working well on French autoroutes and A roads today.

It might even make it useable in SE England. But I somehow doubt that. It would need to set to about 2m to stop all the knob jockeys barging in.

Thanks for some of the comments guys.
I think I'm going to have to continue with the targeted search on AT using "ACC", "Active Cruise" "Adaptive Cruise" "Stop & Go" "Distronic" etc.

As ever, I'm going to be looking for a needle in a haystack. It's usually stuff that's retrofitable but I dont think I fancy my chances with this laugh

Was impressed by the ACC, but have recently spent significant time behind the wheel of a T-Roc with ACC and lane assist - takes so much stress out of long motorway journeys.

Use it similarly when the traffic is flowing - seems daft not to!

If you’re looking the newer the better, I had acc on my automatic leon, the acc was great, but annoying in stop start as it wouldnt brake the car to a stop and then pull away again, my sisters got a new Passat with a later type and it will brake you down to a stop on the motorway, hold it on the brakes and then get you back up to speed when it can, it also won’t let your undertake

Back to the Passat what about the 240bhp biturbo diesel? In GT or R Line trim they have ACC.

Drove one and they don’t hang about.

I've always used CC on long French (payage) motorways to make things a bit easier and on average speed sections of UK motorways.

Having ACC adds a new dimension to whole experience especially now that Pica-Pica has told me how I can adjust the distance from the vehicle in front.

Today I probably did at least 50% of my driving on French (non-payage) motorways and A roads using ACC. Very useful now they've gone all mental on speed enforcement here.

It'll be interesting to see if it works a bit better in the congested SE when I get back now I've reduced the distance.

I suspect it'll only be really useful on more open roads - motorways, A roads, B roads.

The Arteon Bi-tdi has never been available on a cheap lease deal, but are quite good value nearly new https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

All the Honda civics have had ACC and other radar safety features for the last 3 years. Could be a little bit of a downgrade but you should be get a VERY good deal on a new diesel if you go for one.
