Apologies if people have already answered this, but has anyone attempted to get a reduction on monthly charges based on reduced vehicle use? In particular with FCA, but wondered if anyone has had any luck at all?
I would be interested in this, got a 12000 miles in 18 month contract up soon and it will probably go back with less than 8000 on the clock.RonaldMcDonaldAteMyCat said:
I cancelled an order for an A4 with RGW- the reg was WV20TPX, which is Bristol. Don't think VAG use the docks at Bristol, so presume the dealer was down there.
As an aside, would be interested to know if anyone else picked up that car (A4 35TDI Black Edition saloon auto).
VAG use Tyne, Grimsby and Sheerness docks once the cars leave BrusselsAs an aside, would be interested to know if anyone else picked up that car (A4 35TDI Black Edition saloon auto).

Guys try Oldham Audi, I think that’s who RGW use to source their cars. Ask for their business/fleet management team. The floor retail guys won’t have a clue. Ask for Mike Cosgriff (if he still works there)
Yes, always use the fleet departments. You will be asked if it is a business or personal quote. Fleet don't care if it is personal. Retail once told me they don't have the same incentives as fleet and PCH, apparently, doesn't count towards their targets as a PCH or cash deal does

Looking for a large comfortable car for approx. 15k miles a year. Doesn't need to be fast or sporty as it will spend its entire life on a crowded average speed camera enforced road. Also, subtle=better when it comes to going to visit clients on business.
I've usually had company cars in the past including various BMW, VW and Audi so fancy a change.
These Volvo S90 deals seem good: 3 + 35 @£298 or 3 + 23 @ £317
How have people been finding the S90 or V90 variants to drive?

I have a V90 T4 R-Design. Very comfortable (the seats in particular are sublime), loads of room, all the toys you could possibly want (especially "plus" models that have HUD and suchlike), great quality feel inside, looks fantastic, and generally receives positive reactions. The Volvo On Call app is pretty good - you can remote lock/unlock, start the engine, locate the car, send GPS directions, and download mileage/journey logs. The T4 is thirsty though. I average about 33mpg with roughly a 60/40 motorway/town driving split. A lot of people complain the gearbox is slow-witted, but I have never had cause to complain. Servicing is expensive at main dealers, but they have a price match service.
I've been really happy with mine. I'd have another if I wasn't going electric.
Loads more info on the dedicated thread.

Great motorway cruiser. The cruise control is easy to use and means you end up driving with it on as much as possible, I like how it tells you how fast the car in front is going before it starts to slow down. On the flip side it is big. I came from a Fiesta 2.5 years ago and still find it awkward at times in car parks where you do need to pay a lot of attention to positioning. On the whole it is a very nice place to be and have enjoyed my ownership. Had a DPF issue that I needed to pop into the dealer to resolve but not sure I'd want a petrol engine in there, it is a heavy car. Auto box can be dimwitted at times, it is no BMW ZF. Seats are lovely and the driving position is good. I don't like the touch screen only controls I think they are dangerous along with the self driving where after the novelty worn off, I stick with adaptive cruise control and disengage it when conditions become too variable.I've usually had company cars in the past including various BMW, VW and Audi so fancy a change.

Looking for an A5 sportback. Seen so many people on here saying contact Audi direct etc, but which Audi are they contacting?
An Audi main dealer. Any main dealer. I tried my nearest a mile away, the largest in the world, and they messed me about. I put calls in and found a dealer 200 miles away who came out cheapest with options thrown in on a facelift model already built and has just arrived on these shores. What was the deal you got mate?Edited by HMG1K on Sunday 5th July 13:12
I have a BMW M140i about half way through its lease which is likely to spend a lot of time sitting on the drive in the future as it looks like my workplace is considering a 75% to permanent change to working remotely.
Assuming I want to just pay an amount per month for "hassle free" motoring what is the cheapest way to get into something?
I'm actually shocked how little you can get something like a basic Aygo for if the figures on the sites are to be believed.

£292 on a 3+23 against 6k miles p/m - A5 Sportback S-Line 35 TDI with metallic paint thrown in; on an Audi Loyalty deal. Usually £319 on Loyalty. Circa £370 without at the time.Keep in mind the first deals on the facelifts ended 30th June, funded by VWFS. Pipeline cars (metallics only available). Dealers has a discretionary £1,250 contribution to put towards a car. Only Sport and S-Line 35 TDI were on promotion.

What deal did you get? Would you mind sharing? And was it on the loyalty programme or available to anyone? Which options did you spec on the vehicle? Im also based not too far away from Huddersfield.

I have a V90 with the T4, and came from a BMW 330d. The interior is a really nice place to be, seats are amazing. Infotainment is a bit naff though, and the sat nav is less than useful.200bhp is just about enough, but it can be sluggish. The worst thing about the car is the gearbox - it's awful. coasting to a roundabout, all clear, foot down, nothing for a few seconds, then kick-down. Bloody awful.

But to be honest the above sums it up quite nicely.
Not that economical either, and quite heavy on front tyre wear.
But compared to what else you can get for that money it's a lot of car that wafts up and down motorways nicely.

Try also bookmygarage - you'll commonly get a local main dealer offering a service much more cheaply then they normally do. You can spot them by the distance from your postcode, they are often described as "local franchised dealer" or similar.
Hi mate, never used this website before. I've put my details in for my Alfa Giulia Veloce and have an option which says 'Official Dealership' and also 'serviced by approved franchise' but it's saying its through 'secret service'. Are you familiar with this 'secret service'? I'm 99% sure its the Arnold Clark Alfa franchise i test drive this model given the location it's showing.Gassing Station | Car Buying | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
