Best Lease Car Deals Available? (Vol 8)

I had an email from BMW Aberdeen today for an 840i S drive, seems like a good deal:

Checked the T&Cs and it doesn't mention £399 + VAT, just £399 per month. If it's inclusive of VAT it's 18% of £71k (albeit for 8k miles) if it's ex-VAT then it's 21%.

Just called them, thats incl.VAT and £440 for 10,000 but deposit stays the same. They dont deliver and charge £125 for admin and petrol to put in your car for when you collect it hahaha.

Based on 8k annual mileage, excess mileage charge is 10.56ppm. Car list price is £32,365

It's a good deal, I can't remember what were the really good 8 series deals that were available a while ago?

If i have my maths correct that is approx 24%.....pretty normal cost, nothing special, but if its ok for you then why not ?

The equation is:

Total cost of leasing for 2yrs @ 10/yr divide by List Price (or P11D)

A fair deal is <25%
A good deal is <20%

So it's cheaper to pay excess miles, than go for 10K miles upfront. At least excess miles are more reasonable than on Leasys deal with 40ppm.

Other dealerships may have similar deals if Dundee is too far. I think someone mentioned Stratstone franchise.

Someone at work got his wife the X3 M competition on the deal posted on here a few months ago and he just asked his local Stratstone to match the price. I'm assuming it will be the same with the 8 series unless they physically have the cars in stock then they all get access to the same BMW deals so it's worth trying a local dealer and asking them to match it.

I'd be tempted with this if I was renewing at the moment, 2 doors aren't ideal but I'd get over it.

This is where the % rule isn't at its best. BMW may have a list price of £71k but nobody is paying anywhere near that. I think their price list lost touch with reality about seven years ago. I remember the 6 GC was available with £25k off when those lease deals were out.

That said, £549 averaged puts this as a nice second car for a few people.

I work it out at 30%? The total cost is £7702 for 16000 miles which is 48p a mile. Multiply by 20000 miles to get £9627.50 then divide by the P11d to get 29.75%... Unless I'm doing something wrong?

Agreed, the list prices are farcical, if you look on the 'what to pay' websites they suggest no more than £55k. The thing is that not a lot of people go in and pay cash for cars nowadays so the monthly prices, pcp and lease deals are what people are interested in. List prices are the preserve of BiK calculations for those taking a company car.

Mine is due to end in June, therefore, need to find something soon. I been looking and found a series 3 M Sports but none of the dealers on carwow are willing to match it. Any dealerships people had luck getting quotes matched?

Dealers definitely not matching for Volvo XC40 or Audi on the A4/A5 Sportback. The dealers I have approached can't get close to broker prices. What price do you have on the 320i M Sport? I might be interested.

Why not go with the broker that's given you a quote instead of asking for a price match?

I've got a Volvo V60 from Santander going back May/June (up to one month extension apparently) and currently scouring the net for another deal.

Looking at Santander 123 offers again and they have:

Volvo V90 Estate T4 Momentum Plus
18 months, 10,000 miles
1+17 @ £379

List price is £38,650. WhatCar talks about a target price on Volvo of about 10% off.

So I calculate that's (23.5%-26.1%) over two years depending on which new price you take.

Got a couple of similar quote levels from leasing.com. Santander had metallic paint included previously.

So not a great deal these days... but could be worse??

My Scirocco goes back mid-March and I am also struggling to find something. Should have gone with the 420i Gran Coupe deal before Christmas and missed out on the recent Audi A4 Black Edition deals. I'm considering the XC40 but not sure.
