You probably won't be getting those figures on a new m340 lease deal any time soon.
PCP is probably your best bet.
Have a search for TRL Deals, he posts all over the BMW forums, got a touring currently at £4300, £499, 48 months, 8k.
Thanks - have been speaking to him via email. I think I can use his deals to leverage Sytner where I am to move on pricing.PCP is probably your best bet.

Ideally I'm hoping for £5k deposit, sub £450 a month for 10k miles - if I manage to do this on PCP then I consider that a steal - thoughts?

This looks like a great deal on the Megane RS

Looks like this is exc. VAT rather than inc. Still not a bad deal though with that VAT added. https://leasing.com/main-dealers/hendy-renault/ren...

Roughly every £1k deposit knocks £25 off the monthly, so you would probably need to put in over £6k to get below £450 per month.
Personally, as others have said, it's a great car, but I wouldn't be paying that for one. But then I wouldn't be PCP'ing either.
Cash is king, i'd re-align your expectations, put that cash to better use and lease something more reasonable.
Theres a few BMW lease deals out there at the moment if you're insisting on sticking with that brand.

In your opinion then, what is a 'good' deal on an M340i ?
That was my point, a good deal would be to forget it and buy something else or wait until the prices drop. If your after a reasonable comparison that car with the forums metric of 2 year, 10k, say at 21% would be £500 a month with no deposit or £170 a month with 8k deposit
Still scratching my head what to replace my A4 Allroad with when it goes back in a couple of months.
Seen a few deals on here recently discussed for 520d and 620d, but that engine in that car seems a bit underwhelming.
If you don't need to fit three in the back, this 430i looks decent - similar price to the 620d deals but for a (subjectively) nicer looking car, loads more miles (10k pa over 6k), and a chunk more bhp for the same money:
1+35 £378 per month
£180 fees
I make that 33% over 3 years, fk knows if it's a good, great or indifferent deal but there's not a lot around right now.

Thanks - am talking to TRL currently although he's not been that helpful TBH and doesn't want to re-run any quotes with revised deposit figures I've offered him. Shame as I heard good things...
£1000 deposit is £22 a month. you can do the maths yourself. Tony is absolutely brilliant. By far the easiest purchase experience ive ever had. sharepointalex said:
In your opinion then, what is a 'good' deal on an M340i ? I can't see the monthlies coming down much more. When I leased my 335, I think I put 3k down and paid £589 a month - I was paying through the nose and after 3 years I was feeling the pain. My own fault as I specced the car up so it meant the lease cost was mad. My first time leasing so I learnt a lesson there.
I understand that you're not a fan of large deposits.
I pay £350 a month for a loan financing the purchase of my 335 and there's not much left on it now, I love the 335 but having driven the M340i I love it more. I love estates and I'm a big fan of the 3 series touring. I've thought about Audi's, mercs etc. but can't find anything else I like...
Get over to Baby BMW website and look at the TRL thread. They have some offers on M340i's but obvs this is PCP which, at the prices being banded around, might work out better for you. I understand that you're not a fan of large deposits.

Edit. As above. He isn't going to fk about re-running quotes. That will be darn closest to the best price you are going to get. The car hasn't been out long so if you want one, that's it.
Now, back to leasing.......
