Hi all. Long term reader, infrequent posts!

I’m looking for a family car with a bit of punch and have investigated a Seat Ateca Cupra. I’m off to test drive one tomorrow but have a lease quote for 370 a month on a 3+35 profile.

Wondering what people think and if there’s any decent alternatives. Cheers

I like the sound of one of these, but not sure I could justify the extra £100 per month (on same profile) over a Leon Cupra estate lease:

https://www.whatcar.com/car-leasing/deals/personal...

Cost difference aside, a few of reviews I've read suggest considering the Leon Cupra estate anyway.

Hi folks. Have kept an eye on this thread for a while as I intended on leasing at some point in the future. Due to receiving, to my mind, a very decent quote on a Megane RS (3 + 23 @ £258pm) I may be leasing sooner than anticipated!

The issue I have is that I'm currently about 3/4 of the way through a 4 year PCP deal. Was just looking for a bit of advice on the following -

1. I believe I'm in positive equity with my PCP deal. The finance settlement figure is about £10,800 and most online valuations I've had are upwards of £11k. Could it be as straightforward as selling the car to someone like WBAC and would they simply pay the bulk of the settlement to the finance company?

2. On the quote I've been given, there's an estimated delivery slot of May/June. How accurate is that likely to be? I could also potentially be a few months without a car so would be keen to know what others have done in those sorts of instances.

Any advice would be appreciated. I'm fairly clueless when it comes to this sort of thing!

Thanks so much.

Just FTKd on my first lease!

10+23 227.16 for a Misano Blue on 8k miles.
They must like you - I'm being quoted 248pm for Metallic on 8k miles 10+23
6+23 £287.50 for 10k miles in white, £299.45 for metallic. 17.77 excess mileage. Delivery in the next 10 days
Its OK, comes at at about 23%.
I have also just gone for this at 10+23 227.16 for 8k miles. But my excess mileage is slightly higher at 18.23 for some reason

I ordered over the phone, would I be covered by the 14 days cooling off period as its more than what I wanted to spend on a car so will think about it over the weekend. I paid £500 deposit, would I get that back if I cancelled?

Hi Guys,

My name is Saber, I work at the Alfa Romeo main dealer in Nuneaton and I wanted to thank you all for your interest! Please be reassured the figures are correct- they are controlled by Alfa Romeo Italy. All we do is adjust the initial rental and mileage to suit you- all the reds sold within half an hour. Also there are now just two left! Please appreciate that circa 200 a month for a luxury highly-rated car like the Alfa is amazing! Some people have also changed the initial rentals so the monthly payments are mixed up

Don’t forget, because it is a very short term, any revisions to the parameters(initial rental, mileage, options, term) has a big swing on the figures

Also what they haven’t realised is that if you increase the mileage the monthly payment goes up exponentially, i.e going from 6k miles to 8k miles costs less than going from 8k miles to 10k miles

Also the excess mileage charge changes for 6k, 7k, 8k miles etc.

If you are paying more let's say because you're doing 10000 miles per year, you're doing 10000 miles more than the advertised quote overall so the car's value will decrease- if you actually add up £50 for example, that's only £1150(£50 x 23 payments) to do an extra 10000 miles! That's not bad at all when you think about it.

Thanks everyone, it is much appreciated

Ps I had no idea what piston heads was, i was actually recommended on here by a very happy customer- we treat everyone the same!

Talk to your broker or dealer and tell them what you want. As an example I ordered a car in March/April time but didn't want delivery until October/November. It could have been ready months before.

Yeah that’s a big price difference... but subtly isn’t that a Leon Cupra... rather than the Cupra Leon? Not sure what the difference is. Unfortunate I want something a bit higher / SUV style for lifting the baby in/out!

Not quite as rapid but some cheapish deals on Ford Kuga.

Appreciate it's personal preference - see what you think following a test drive at the weekend (I've not had one).

I had the Seat Leon Cupra hatch on 2 year lease, at total cost of £5600. Followed by an Audi Q5 at £9200. Personally I think my next lease will be the Seat Leon Cupra Estate I linked to at £7600.

Central sent following deal, but I don't think it's that great when you get past their flashy title and using low monthly based on low mileage.

ABARTH 180ps Competizione 129 Per month!!!
No Initial rental £172 per month!!! BE QUICK

ABARTH 595 1.4 T-Jet 180BHP Competizione 70th Anniversary 3dr
Personal Contract Hire from
£155.99 inc. VAT
(Add £20.00 + VAT for maintenance - £100 + VAT processing fee applies)

Term 24 Months
Mileage Rental 5,000 pa *
Initial Rental Personal £1,871.86 inc VAT (12+)
Admin Fee £150.00 + VAT
  • If contract mileage is exceeded, excess mileage charges will apply.
But 10K miles was £246.79 x 24 = 5,922.96. So similar to previous deals. Not sure what's extra on 70th anniversary edition.
Lsd
Brembo brakes
Nicer exhaust
Better suspension
I popped to my local abarth dealer and they were doing around 272 a month!
It seemed the cheapest around anyway , that I found in a quick search.
A fun car if you like tht sort of thing (like me biggrin )

We did this when we got out a pcp early.
Webuyanycar will pay finance company directly and if there is any spare will transfer you the difference.
If you are in negative equity you pay webuyanycar the difference. Remember to take your settlement quote to them when you take the car in
It was straight forward and the bonus was they were higher than any other online quote and only knocked a tiny bit off for some chips.

Sorry all I know this isn’t deal chat!

If the OP ends up being in negative equity they might be in a position to voluntary terminate the agreement if 50% of the financial agreement has been paid. Lots of good advice on legal beagles and on here (in the right forum) on how to do it.

I am leasing my current Volvo from Beckie at Lipscomb, they are a genuine Volvo dealership who do competitive lease quotes, so I’m sure this is for real.

I enquired on this. I think the price may be based on 3+48 or 3+36 because when I asked for a 3+24 it went up to £278/ month which still isnt bad. Only one car was still in stock on Friday.
