Oh Jesus, the one I tested got 21 on a mixed route of dual carriageway and back road (without hooning)
You might get mid 30’s on eco mode if you’re frugal.
Odd. I drove one for 30 mins on Friday just gone. I got 34 from the dealer, through a bit of traffic and 8 miles of duel carriageway. It dropped to 25 when I hooned it back down the other direction of the duel carriageway and settled on 28 when I got it back to the dealer. I understand it's not indicative for a ~20 mile test drive but it was a demo and only had 800 miles on the clock so you'd hope it would improve. You might get mid 30’s on eco mode if you’re frugal.
Edit: Either way the ~£1400 saved from the Cupra I cancelled buys me a lot of fuel over 18 months

BCA now do inspection and collection at the same time. You're going to want to be there for the inspection.
Same day but not the same time, yesterday we had a 9am inspection with 4pm collection.Much better than the last time they collected a car from me!

Looks awesome. I've gone for the same colour.
How bad are we talking for fuel? At long as it get's close to 40 mpg on a long run I'll be happy.
I am averaging 26.5mpg after 3k miles... Its worth noting I only averaged 35mpg in a E92 325d LCI auto beforehand as my commute is 18 miles of country lanes and I have a heavy right foot. How bad are we talking for fuel? At long as it get's close to 40 mpg on a long run I'll be happy.
On a longer motorway run I am getting about 32mpg and I tend to again sit at 85/90 when I can. I have never seen anywhere close to 40 however and would suspect if drive sensible you may see 35mpg on a longer run.

I'm planning on picking my new one up and leaving the Seat on the drive uninsured, need to check with the relevant parties that this is even allowed!
Don't leave the car uninsured, you might be liable for the whole value of it, if something happens. Your contract will probably state you have to keep it insured while in your possesion. PenelopaPitstop said:

Sounds good to me. I'm a bit more conservative (it's a Volvo after all!) most of the time so fingers crossed I can average low 30's. Right pain in the arse that is, been seeing that BCA pickup times are up to 3 weeks and my new car is due by the end of this week.
Most insurers will allow 2 cars on the policy for a short while, a temporary additional vehicle.Alot of people have overlap.
I was charged £25 for a 3 week overlap on my last cars.

That’s good to know, which insurance company did you do that with? I’m with Esure and they seem a bit cut throat with fees etc. Alot of people have overlap.

My insurance allowed me to add my previous car on temporary insurance for 2 weeks. Cost £10.31 from Admiral, so certainly worth asking your current insurer.MisterWhippy said:

Seems reasonable to me and if I was at a point where I could change my car i would go for this.
I've had a Golf R Estate through these guys before. Currently in a Volvo V90 CC T5 and now very bored. 12 months left of this wagon and then either a A35 AMG or Golf R
