I have a BMW M140i about half way through its lease which is likely to spend a lot of time sitting on the drive in the future ...
Assuming I want to just pay an amount per month for "hassle free" motoring what is the cheapest way to get into something?

I'm actually shocked how little you can get something like a basic Aygo for if the figures on the sites are to be believed.
If 75% working from home, then why go for an Aygo?

Low miles = get huge engine, as mpg isn't a concern.
Ladies and gentlemen, there are two types of people in this world. Observe.

I'm using it as an example.

The last few months has been a bit of an eye opener on priorities.

It may not be very PH but when you just see a lump on the drive that you're paying a few hundred quid a month for but not really using and which is expensive to insure (when you're not using it) it makes you think a little.

Not saying I'm going to do it just considering options.

Just to summarise as i've been posting alot today....

A5 Sportsback 35 TDI Sline

RGW vs Contract Cars

RGW offer:
Metallic option
£294.10
10k Mileage
23+6
Deposit £1764.58
Plus processing fee £360

Total cost ~£8888

Contract Cars
Metallic option (apparently latest is Black is available (few) with a slightly longer wait 6-8 weeks as opposed to 6 weeks arrival for the metallic grey, white and Navarra Blue)

£278.48
10k Mileage
23+6
Deposit £1670
Plus Admin fee £600
Plus doc fee £300 ( someone mentioned - that has to be applied after verifying it with contractcars)

£8975

Roughly £87 difference between the two...one advertised for NHS workers - which i think is misleading with contract cars cos you can get it cheaper with RGW.

Whoever you go with the deal is pretty much the same and probably on par with loyalty deal that's been offered to existing customers.

I’ve signed the order form, submitted finance application and been copied back on all the docs. Waiting for acceptance I guess? Then pay the fee and lock it in, I hope!

Hi mate, never used this website before. I've put my details in for my Alfa Giulia Veloce and have an option which says 'Official Dealership' and also 'serviced by approved franchise' but it's saying its through 'secret service'. Are you familiar with this 'secret service'? I'm 99% sure its the Arnold Clark Alfa franchise i test drive this model given the location it's showing.
When you do your search put the postcode of the garage you want in as your postcode (i.e. the post code of the Alfa dealer in this case). You can then see how far the secret service is away from the postcode you input. That should narrow down which garage the secret service is or isnt.
Thanks for the advice, this confirms what i suspected so will use this website to get service booked in due course.

Not sure these are currently in production (new one due soon?) so might be stock cars. Not an amazing deal, but not bad I don't think.
C300
Is already 2020shape, with new cockpit as option

They must get paid by the NHS otherwise the next best offer is RGW.
That would be a major scandal if people's taxes were being used to fund someone else's car!

The broker or funder will 've swallowing the hit. I'd say the funder to build loyalty and it's good PR. Like B+Q and others do when they say to let them know you are NHS so they can "show their appreciation."

It will never be government money

Just to clarify that statement...what I'm meant to say was the deal was for NHS workers and they must be on NHS payroll etc. I guess it's all irrelevant now that RGW offer looks better on paper.

I'm just bemused why dealers can't match the offer!

£360 process fee is quite expensive compared to other brokers, but the Contract Cars fees, well they are a fcensoredcking joke !

£600 admin fee plus £300 document fee yikes £900 just in fees......no thanks.

Look above though - the total payable isn’t so different. Other brokers just skim a few quid each month. Their marketing technique of emailing me every 20 minutes certainly keeps them at the front of my mind. I use them as a barometer of what deals might be around and go from there.

One thing I will say - I’ve never seen ContractCars with a truly incredible deal like I have seen elsewhere.

This seems reasonable if anyone is after an XC90, especially the T8 model:

https://www.gateway2lease.com/cars/volvo/xc90/2.0-...

22.7% of ~ £66k list for 2 years, 10k miles on £469 per month for a 9+23.

£200 fee.

Try one of the street parked car clubs.

Has anyone got any idea when the Octavia vRS released in Q3 will be available to order a lease on?

(Appreciate chase the deal not the car but past history suggest these will be a great deal on release.)

.
It does but its only been 3 months so far and people are beginning to back to work now and so they're less likely to worry about metal sitting there. I WFH anyway and seeing 3-4 cars doing very little mileage has had an impact on what I've bought (or not bought) over the past few years.

Anytime from now - Golf R deals of yore cane about before the car had even been unveiled. Just had a look at it - looks an intriguing option doesn’t it?

You have to be the owner of the car for this deal, unfortunately meaning leasees don't qualify
I was offered the service pack on my leased xc90, so not being the owner of the car isn’t an issue

Certainly does. My other half got one of the Karoq Sportsline deals and I'm very impressed with it. A petrol vRS saloon in the flat grey they do would be perfect. Here's hoping!
