So guys, due to the lack of quality lease deals on a half decent performance saloon, I am considering going to a PCP deal on an M340i with Tech pack and shadow line pack.

The deal I have been offered is £9k deposit and £400 per month on a 4 year pcp deal. I’ve always gone for 2 year lease deals, therefore is there anything I need to watch out for on 4 year PCP? Road tax? Warranty? GVF?

Any help would be much appreciated on this.
Yeah you'll be paying the road tax which will be £470 year I think, warranty will run out after 3 years and you'll be due an MOT then too. Might need major service within 4 year period which could be costly, unless you hand back before that's due.
Lovely car however!

The thick end of 30 grand for a car you'll have to tax yourself and run out of warranty for a year, then hand back with (possibly) nothing to show for it? The 340i is lovely but, like previous deals you've posted, it's bonkers money (imo).

Drove the 40TDi in a new A6 last week. It’s a very dull engine in a nice, but very large, package. For a slightly sporty car it wouldn’t be my choice. Decent price and a nice place to sit, though.

@Truekumar - another expensive German car? Somebody has got to do it, but after leasing for years that looks mental money to me. I’m sure whoever you are trying to impress will be very impressed, however, as they’re nice cars.

Maybe, but what else is there around right now which has a half decent engine for less money? All the lease deals seem to be on very sluggish engines. Even the pricing on 330i’s are crap at the moment. Any other suggestions would be much appreciated. I was waiting on a decent lease deal to be released on the S4 but it doesn’t look like anything is coming frown

Yes they are the ones that I am looking at mate. The M340i is just slightly cheaper than the M4 deal but the M4 is looking a little dated now.

I have one and agreed, improved slightly by changing driving mode. That said as a multi product unit its WAY better than the 35TDi which really shouldn't be installed beyond a Golf sized car IMO.

Can't you buy almost new one for £30K?. I know you can get 435 x-drive for that, but never looked at 340i prices. Anyway, it's probably the most expensive deal posted here in years.

I had A6 40tdi avant rental last week. It was ok for M25 run, but it's like white goods, nothing else. If.I went for A7, I would look for quattro and bigger engine, preferably 50tdi. (286bhp)

Agreed - my current lease is an A7 45tdi and I'd definitely not consider a 40. Car much too big / heavy for that engine I imagine.

Same for the A5 deals on 35 engine - would need to be convinced

Anyone who has ordered an A5 deal (or A4), what have you been quoted for delivery times?
I've got an A4 on order that was ordered in May, but no build week still as audi are changing tooling for the MY2021.
Got a quote and finance accepted on A5 and im told it will be 10 weeks until delivery. Has anyone thats ordered one got a build date yet and delivery?
Thanks,

I posted a comment towards you. You seem to have cash to burn and a desire for something fairly meaty.

The biggest factor when purchasing a car is whether you can afford it.

After that comes %’s, good deals, trim levels etc.

You have the options of financing an outright purchase,, PCP or lease.

Choose a handful of cars compare & contrast the different ways of acquiring said car.

At the end of the day, what you get may not be a bargain, but if you have disposable income and you want to spend that on a specific car, then at the end of the day, you go for it. Buy a car that makes you happy.

The PH community is here to help, but there are some things that are certain in life:

1. Death.
2. Taxes
3. TrueKumar posting a ‘deal’ on a mid/highish German car, which is expensive compared to the deals posted in this thread.
4. After a 24 hour hiatus, a repeat of number 3.

Ps - you must tell us what you went for after all this...

Yep - it’s why I passed the A5 deals by. It’s a terribly dull engine. Fine as a mile muncher I guess, but dull as ditchwater if you get the chance to have some fun (and that’s before we discuss the totally inert steering).

If this continues, by November I’ll be ‘doing a truekumar’ and just drop the National deficit of Liberia on a BMW 3 series.

You can get x3m/x4m same price. Or merc c63 if you go direct with merc. Why 340 though?

I leave mine always in dynamic and standard and when overtaking pull gear selector back and make it go in sports mode, plenty of kick for overtaking . I also paid just 8k over 2 year term for it. i do find it that it chews through front tyres than my other cars

Skoda Karoq 9+23, 8k PA - 150hp Active Sportline DSG petrol, including metallic with G2L £239pcm. Not a bad deal and quite a decent spec on those.
