Can I cancel a lease if the wait is too long?
Took a lease out for a Formentor with Nationwide in May and still no build week allocated. Like a lot of factory orders, I could be looking at December or even into 2022, which is ridiculous.
I’m guessing if I cancelled I would lose the ~£230 fee I paid. They told me initially a September delivery, but I probably wouldn’t have bothered with the lease if I knew it was going to be end of the year onwards.
I've just cancelled with Nationwide for a Peugeot 2008 advertised as a July delivery only to discover, three weeks after their last update and me having to phone to ask, that the build order won't even begin until end August/September. They agreed to reimburse the admin fee too, though that was only via email so still waiting on confirmation of that.Took a lease out for a Formentor with Nationwide in May and still no build week allocated. Does anyone have experience of getting tyres replaced by VWFS?
I have full maintenance on my A6 and when in for a service yesterday was advised that all 4 tyres needed replaced however the tread on all are between 2.11-3.1mm.
Audi had no stock so I tried calling ATS however their view was that I would’ve get approval until under 2mm.
The main issue is that I have a puncture in the best tyre (3.1mm) and got it patched today to tide me over. Needless to say it’s still losing air.
I don’t have an ATS local and am going away on Mon so think I will need to suck it up and replace the 3.1mm tyre at my own cost over the weekend.
Anyone else had tyres replaced before they get to 2mm?
Sorry for the long post, cheers.

I'd keep topping it up - it'll accelerate the wear...I have full maintenance on my A6 and when in for a service yesterday was advised that all 4 tyres needed replaced however the tread on all are between 2.11-3.1mm.

That and a few (very hard) launches with TC off should do the trick

I might have asked this before quite a while ago, apologies if I have, I don’t think I got a definitive answer (it’s been an ongoing debacle…)
Has anyone managed to reject a lease car for repeated faults, and have they had any assistance from the finance co in doing so?
I may well have missed the boat for this now and accept that, as the car is slightly over a year old, however Covid meant that it wasn’t used much last year. I’ve had constant faults with my Range Rover Hybrid, and an ongoing one that the dealer hasn’t managed to fix after 3 separate attempts. The spare key has never been able to unlock the car, ever since I had it delivered brand new. The dealer keeps saying there’s nothing wrong with it, however I’ve showed them on the 3 separate times when I’ve gone to collect the car that it clearly doesn’t work! My pano roof has now come loose, something’s fallen off the inside of the door trim, the engine has developed what feels like a misfire and I’ve got to wait until 10th August until they’re able to look at it again, after not fixing any of these things when it went in last week.
So far, in the 14 months I’ve had the car, it’s had-
- glovebox didn’t open upon delivery. Dash out to repair as something wasn’t installed at the factory
- suspension failure requiring call to LR assist and resetting the car via OBD
- Hybrid system failure (multiple times)
- Air Con failure (in Cornwall on the hottest day of last year)
- Both screens going dead - very common, happens often. This means you lose control of climate/AC too
- emergency brake system failure
- spare key won’t do keyless unlock, has never worked and dealer can’t fix it
- more recently a couple of times after pulling off on battery power the engine hasn’t cut in when it was supposed to, leaving the car coasting for a bit until it wakes up. This happened when trying to join a dual carriageway nearly causing me to have an accident as I lost power suddenly at 40mph or so
- engine feels like it has a constant misfire from cold, or when it cuts in after being on battery power
- suspected loose pano roof causing really loud rattles from above
- suspected loose drivers door card causing loud rattles
The car has only done 7k miles, I’ve had it from brand new. It’s leased from Lex, the deal was done via a broker. I just want rid of this car now as I’m totally sick of it and its constant faults (I have pictures of all faults/fault codes on dash) only to be told after waiting weeks for the dealer to see it that there’s nothing wrong with it. I’d even pay money to get out of it now, that’s how frustrated I am. I really don’t know where to turn or what process to follow, my local dealer have been useless in repairing it and having not bought it through them I can’t see they’d go to much trouble to help me get rid of the car. If it was PCP’d I’d have just traded it in by now, settled the finance and cut my losses.
I don’t suppose another dealer (different marque) could buy me out of my lease could they? People have told me they’ve managed this before but I think they’re getting confused between PCP and lease as I’m sure this isn’t possible. The one thing that’s currently on my side is due to the strength of residuals currently the car can’t be in much negative equity if at all, it’s CAPing and not too far below list price.
In my experience if you log the complaint with Lex and let them know that you want to reject the car, although a long and laborious process Lex Autolease have usually been good at upholding a customers complaint. Have you informed Lex of all the issues you've had over the term?Has anyone managed to reject a lease car for repeated faults, and have they had any assistance from the finance co in doing so?

To echo what someone said a couple of pages back. Had my 3008 collected a week or two ago and had a £160 charge for one curbed alloy and scratches to boot liner etc (taking stuff to dump, not someone trapped trying to get out).
Had a letter from PSA yesterday and they said they weren't going to charge me. There were quite a few light scratches and stone chips from motorway miles so was quite pleased.

I've tried and failed to find the answer to this, but once a car is inspected to go back, can you get more charges once the vehicle has been collected?
Background
I've had a bit of a mare today, car inspection have complained about some of the paintwork repair (which was reputable garage guaranteed repair) one bit is a bad colour match and two panels have dirt embedded in the pain. Repair bill for these bits came to £320. If I do a cancelled collection cost of £130 and get the garage to fix it, there's a risk that the just find more damage, there are some minor chips on the bonnet...
If I just swallow the extra costs at £190 and it goes back (at this point, my preferred option), I want to know that's all I'll invoiced for, or is there a risk that even once it goes back that they may invoice for extra damage.

I have an Audi A5 2019 on lease. It’s due it’s next oil change and next inspection in a few weeks. I have been quoted over £500 for this which seems a bit steep from Audi. Does anyone know what would be a reasonable cost for this. They also said they recommend a brake fluid change. Is this needed? As I’m giving the car back in 6 months I I would rather not spend anything extra than I need to, any help would be appreciated.
Who's the funder for the lease? VWFS or some other company, because other companies allow any VAT garage to do service, but VWFS wants franchised dealer service.
Isn't brake fluid done at 3 years? Definitely haggle or price match, because I paid less for A8 and S8 service in past and that was in London area.
Also, it looks like VWFS is now charging £50 for missing service. Check new VWFS damage charge sheet. However I don't see new one for Audi, only one from 2017. But VW and Seat is showing new charges now.

Hi,
I'm due to return my wife's Golf GTI back to ALD in the next week or so. Yesterday the car said Oil service Due in 30 days, do I need to have that service done or because it will go back before the 30 days expires am I okay?
Wouldn't mind but its done less than 3k in the last year
Thanks in advance

Apparently it's only £50 odd fine if you miss a service. Check the vwfs post lease charges NomoElvo said:
I had my lease car delivered on 16 June and I’ve not had any money taken out of my account yet. The initial payment was meant to be £1500, then its £254 a month. My gut is to keep quiet, but I also don’t want any issues with my credit score. Any advice?
You have a contract. I’d get onto them in writing ASAP. Why would you ask for advice here. Weird. Gazzab said:

I think that's just if the record is missing (which is a bit of nightmare for the customer as they're all electronic now). It's not clear but £50 makes no sense - they can't (or at least, shouldn't) sell the car as approved used without the service(s) being done so it could have a significant effect on value. Plus (on a 2yr lease) the remainder of the warranty would be invalidated

Jeeez. Bet you’re fun at parties. Because it’s weekend and they’re not open so thought I’d ask people in the meantime. All the documentation says initial payment will be taken by direct debit, was just wondering if anybody else had experienced a similar situation?
I tend to be too busy partying to talk about direct debits and lease agreements when at social events. I would just drop them a line and get the payments sorted. deanoz said:

The service indicator was showing 12% (so about 6 weeks).
BCA inspected it and only fault they listed on inspection sheet was only 1 service carried out. Waiting to hear ALD's view on things.
