quick qu - any problem me insuring my wife lease or does it depend on the finance companys t+c's?
As in, you taking out insurance in your name, but the lease is in her name? I’d imagine the T&Cs will say the vehicle has to be insured but not be specific about how.

Just a FYI really - had a heads up from our broker that our car (originally due end of March) is now available for delivery, so sounds like things are going to start moving again.

We’ve not had our returning vehicle picked up yet, so need rid of that but the finance company is dragging its heels a bit.

That’s fine. Last 3 leases have been in my name, but insured in my wifes name and me as named driver.

T&C’s will state car must be insured fully
Comprehensive at all times.

As always, check your own T&C’s to be sure smile

All done, about 20 min inspection, picked up front wheels scuffed but that was it. Said he's marking them down and nothing else. Wasn't sure if I'd get charged with that being it.
Didn't have to sign so I videoed him as he said it all at the end.
Great. Will remember that when I sort mine being picked up when the new car comes

Hi.
We have asked Lex to collect the car as it’s at end of lease next Wednesday.
They have given the usual don't use it it’ll be our insurance. The wife is stressing though as we will have no room on the drive when the new car comes Thursday so will have to park off road in a busy street.
What happens if it gets damaged and proving whose possession the car was in when it happened.
The car is in top condition with just. a couple of stone chips on the front as expected.

Without an inspection how can they argue about damage ?

Question for you bright folk:

So my VWFS was due to expire in March of this year until I opted for a 12 month extension. Now the deal I've got is great, but I'm trying to figure away out of it given the uncertainty around my job, finances etc. I seem to recall that the extension cannot be terminated early, but has anyone managed to get out of an extended deal ahead of its expiry?

Thanks

Take high resolution photos of each panel, front, back and all windows and mirrors before parking it on the road. If the contract has ended it is no longer your responsibility apart from making sure it is locked and legally parked.

I would be surprised if you can’t terminate an extended lease early. I would call VWFS and ask. I think Covid-19 gives you sufficient reason to terminate and I would hope that they would be amenable to your request.

You'll be able to terminate it when you want put you pay 50/55% of the remaining monthlies....unless they have something they are willing to do due to CV, worth an ask.

Someone mentioned few pages back about having to chase Zen on their Cupra delivery. I’ve had similar issues, they don’t respond to emails and have to chase them by phone to try to get a delivery date. The order experience was great but that’s where the customer service ends. Keep getting told I’m a priority and they will be in touch, but nothing transpires. The car is at Sytner Seat North Wales which some customers have started to take delivery so hopefully won’t be waiting too much longer.

Same here. Except I've been more lucky via email.

Apparently the car is ready for delivery and the dealership will contact me to arrange the exact day.

That’s what they keep saying to me!

On another note, had my Volvo s90 collected today by bca. Noted two points on his report, slightly curbed wheel ( around 60-70mm) £60 and small dent on rear bumper (less than 15mm) with few bits of chipped paint around it, charge for that is another £200. Annoying especially when the car is otherwise perfect and going back with 5000 miles under contract but that’s leasing for you.

It is indeed - and one of the few issues that really annoys me about it. You can have one small mark on a car that just goes over the limit of acceptability and you are charged - even if the rest of the car is 'as new' and has half the allowable mileage. Happened to me with a C1 - the car was indistinguishable from new on return (12 month lease), not so much as a stone chip on it anywhere. But there was a 50mm scratch below the drivers door in the cill (the part thats painted with the textured underseal stuff) and I was charged £100. No credit for the fact that the rest of the car was perfect. If that scratch was not there, but I had big chips in the screen outside of the critical area, each alloy with a 49mm long scuff and a bonnet full of touched in stone chips it would have been fine!

Exactly, you could have chips, scratches, curbed alloys and dents on every panel of the car that are within the allowance and not get charged a penny and yet in reality would be sending back a shed!

I'd wait and see tbh

I've sent back leases with £200 worth of minor scrapes that have been under mileage and have been charged nothing.

Some companies appear to accept a higher threshold- and the inspector is there to inspect

Hi all

We’ve got a 225xe going back in the near future from total. What’s the situation with inspection? Do they inspect them we have opportunity tonrectify anything brought up? What happens between inspection and pick up if something is damaged? First time leasing and not sure of protocols. Car is mainly sound with some curbed Diamond cut alloys. Reading on other threads about how varied inspections and costs can be. Ta

I received a text message from BCAL stating they have received a vehicle collection request from VWFS. My lease doesn't end until the 29th July, how early do people receive such messages?

Inspection and collection is usually the same day ( at least for the last 3 leases i've had) They are inspecting the condition you are returning the car in.

You should read the guide to determine the condition of the car and bring it up to standard, or accept that there will be a charge and that you will need to pay it.

The subsequent post about receiving a text two months before collection reflects this .. plenty of notice to make sure you know where the keys, service history and any repairs are done - hence the notice in advance.

Unfortunately, its a bit of a balancing act between repairs and just taking the hit - but diamond alloy do appear to be cheaper to leave. ( though you need to judge that yourself as you know the condition )

Hi All, I have just ordered a Megane R.S 280 on a 2 year 10k mpa through LeaseHub, 9+24 who have been very helpful and responsive to my messages through Carwow. I have paid the arrangement fee which was quite high but when I questioned this they said it was higher to keep the monthly payments down but if I wanted they could lower the arrangement and bring the monthlies up.

What happens next? They have said 10 weeks for delivery, which means it’s due to arrive mid August. Can I choose to wait for a 70 Reg? Can I pick the car up from a dealership or do I have to have it delivered? This is my first time leasing so new to me! I think it works out to an average about £320 a month, mainly because I couldn’t resist the upgraded 19” wheels!
