I received a text message from BCAL stating they have received a vehicle collection request from VWFS. My lease doesn't end until the 29th July, how early do people receive such messages?
I got a letter last week - mine ends July 17th so sounds about a similar timescale. I'm gonna extend my Audi A5 on an informal 6 month basis.

I seem to recall that that can be done online - can anybody confirm if I dreamt that and, if I didn't, where I go to do it? I'm not sure I can face dealing with VWFS staff on the phone again.

In the text message it had this link https://customer.vwfs.co.uk/Forms/contract-hire-ex...

I did send VW Finance an email asking a few things as they said they wouldn't take phone calls unless u needed to defer for 3 months due to CV-19...Never replied to me...

informal extension is great if there's no major service due in that period, MOT(if reqd) hopefully one could stand as it's only £45 or so and there should be no issues on a newish car.

Don't forget that MOT's have been extended by 6 months across the board anyway due to COVID-19.

Hi All, I have just ordered a Megane R.S 280 on a 2 year 10k mpa through LeaseHub, 9+24 who have been very helpful and responsive to my messages through Carwow. I have paid the arrangement fee which was quite high but when I questioned this they said it was higher to keep the monthly payments down but if I wanted they could lower the arrangement and bring the monthlies up.

What happens next? They have said 10 weeks for delivery, which means it’s due to arrive mid August. Can I choose to wait for a 70 Reg? Can I pick the car up from a dealership or do I have to have it delivered? This is my first time leasing so new to me! I think it works out to an average about £320 a month, mainly because I couldn’t resist the upgraded 19” wheels!
Nice looking car with the 19’s. It’s a 9+23 deal, so 9 months payment in the first month and then 23 remaining monthly payments. You should only have paid the processing fee of around £360 which is their fee and nothing to do with the initial payment. You can usually change the initial payment to suit you either 1,3,6,9,12 months which obviously changes the cost of remaining 23 monthly payments. As you have gone with a high initial payment it may be worth taking out gap insurance with initial payment cover (shop around, less than £150) just incase car gets stolen or written off early so you get initial payment back. The benefit of high initial payment giving lower ongoing monthly payments also benefits if extend lease (informally) 3months upto 6months at the end of your lease as will be same (lower) monthly cost.
The 10 weeks is an estimate so if in no rush I would ask them to hold the car for September delivery and register on a 70 plate.
Delivery is easier for you just make sure they record the mileage on delivery so it doesn’t come off your mileage allowance. HTH.

Perfect, thanks - I never got a text.

And no, no service will be due - it was only done at the end of last year, nor an MOT as car isn’t yet two years old. I will keep an eye on the tyre wear though.

Hello guys,

Anyone recently returned their vehicle to pink leasing/total motion? What sort of damage charge they were provided on scuff Front bumper? I wasn’t given a damage matrix and they have been very secretive when I asked how damaging pricing was done.

Anyone had a return with ALA? I have an A4 Avant from them at the moment and I've curbed the front alloy pretty badly which also took a small chunk out of the tyre. If this wasn't bad enough my motorbike fell against the rear quarter panel and dinted that too so the cars looking pretty sorry for itself considering it's less than 6 months old.

Does anyone know what the charges are likely to be? And if it's worth repairing in advance first?

Hopefully someone can help with an ALA damages cost matrix.

The usual answer is just leave it and let the inspector pick it up on collection - its often cheaper to pay the lease company their standard damage fee than to get it done yourself. However in your case, with the car being fairly new, there is a stronger case to get the stuff fixed as if you don't you will have to look at it for the next 18 months or 2.5 years (however long your lease is).

Is the paint broken on the dent? Is the wheel painted or diamond cut?

Hello .
Looking to return Leasys car, hopefully locally to Manheim, central Scotland but possible long distance to City Auction Group, Corby.

Car pretty much mint condition but x2 alloys have some corrosion on them, clearly in places not due to external damage.

Other 2 alloys perfect as were replaced due to leaking secondary to internal corrosion. Took months For wheels to come however and due to recent shut downs, there has been no prospect of going back to dealer to argue for further 2 wheels.

Any ideas how this will be dealt with on return. Clearly not keen to pay a penalty for this.

Car will go back with approximately 3 months warranty remaining

Thanks

Same here. Except I've been more lucky via email.

Apparently the car is ready for delivery and the dealership will contact me to arrange the exact day.
That’s what they keep saying to me!

On another note, had my Volvo s90 collected today by bca. Noted two points on his report, slightly curbed wheel ( around 60-70mm) £60 and small dent on rear bumper (less than 15mm) with few bits of chipped paint around it, charge for that is another £200. Annoying especially when the car is otherwise perfect and going back with 5000 miles under contract but that’s leasing for you.
Called Zen today. Got the same answer more or less. Apparently the dealership will contact me in next few days, and I am a priority.

Any luck for you ?

Thanks for the info! I will definitely be going with Gap insurance, I had it previously on my Golf R which I had under a HP. The R.S has a lot to live up to coming from the Golf R, loved it but it’s was getting on a bit (70k Miles) and was starting to cause trouble. Leasing definitely seems to fit my lifestyle better as I normally can’t keep a car for more than 2 years anyways! laugh . Just want something new and fun as I am only 21 and in 2 years time I need to get sensible and start looking into buying a house.

Yeah the paint is broken maybe I should get it done to stop further damage. I’m not sure about the wheels they’re the rotar 5 spoke Audi alloys if you know the type i mean

Why are you going with gap insurance. Have you worked out a specific and defined risk scenario that it will cover?

I have two scuffs on one alloy, i think ones around 5cm (meh) and not sure of the other one. I have cupra 300 at the moment so i think the typical charge is £36 (please correct me) is that per wheel or per issue? I should have gotten alloy insurance but hey hindsights wonderful. THe nearest place to me charges £75 for an alloy repair and a bit more for diamond cut so i wouldn't be surprised if its £100 for mine. Trying to work out whether its cheaper to just leave it or get it repaired.

Hi all,

anyone with experience with Yes Lease? (in particular the Kia Xceed deal that was earlier in the year?)

Had signed up in Jan, car was due March/April but obviously its been delayed due to Covid-19. Queried about cancellation as in need of a car by the end of July (and so far no news) and was told there was a cancellation fee of £360. Is there any way of getting out of this at all?

So far they've passed on the VED increase costs (extra £2 a month) to me and recently reached out for further payslips at the request of ALD finance.

Not sure what I can do in the current situation!

I've already signed up for my next lease, but still keep one eye on the phone while asleep etc etc.
I see prices for my search (7 seater, petrol, auto) have edged up £10pm across the board from different brokers over different makes.

Given no changes in ved etc, how come things move in unison across the board?

Because Brokers are just brokers .. if the underlying price or availability changes then unless they are doing something clever with funding then they will all change
