Had a inspection completed yesterday by Total Motion/Pink leasing. Have to pay £136 For the front bumper scuff which is far cheaper than repair. Apparently the vehicle will be subject to another inspection and I have seen reviews where they try it on with people by charging more. Better to cancel any further DD and follow the written procedure.

Quick question re the % formula for valuing lease deals... it’s typically based on 24m lease and 10k mileage with <20% seen as a very good deal.

What % is seen as great/good/not so good/awful when looking at a 36m lease?

And if on a lower mileage than 10k should you just calculate the cost based on the additional mileage charge to take your quote up to 10k?

My new lease car (VW) should have been registered and delivered in March but due to Covid this has been delayed. VW dealer has now advised that the car will cost me £300 extra because car duty has increased in April. Seems a bit unfair?

It is fair as the contract doesn’t preclude it. The margins are small and so vwfs aren’t going to cover this off.

Hi has anyone heard or dealt with the add on companies ?
With our lease there is a 3 month free trial for.
Gap Insurance
Alloy and Tyre insurance (we already have a maintenance plan covering tyres)
Smart Plus insurance (Covers smart damages)

Gap Insurance is £199 for 3 years.
Smart repair £449 for 3 years

Thoughts ?
Bearing in mind a repair I had on repairing a cracked bumper and paint was £250... but the smart repair covers the alloys.
Wife curbed 2 alloys on previous cars but we have not had it. ole ted so dunno if they will charge.

Finally getting my cheap Zen Auto Cupra delivered on Tuesday. But had to do most of the chasing myself.

Yeah, same here. Mines getting delivered on Thursday.

Did Zen get in touch with you or did the dealership? It was the dealership that confirmed a delivery date with me. Any idea when they take the initial payment? Some people on here were saying that they wanted it up front before agreeing a delivery date.

The dealership got in touch to arrange the delivery.

I had to call Zen auto to make the initial payment over the phone.

When I was trying to get the delivery before the lockdown, Zen auto said that at least 2 days prior to delivery you must:

A. Provide proof of fully comprehensive motor insurance
B. make the initial payment

Otherwise they might postpone the delivery.

But the dealership itself did not ask for any of the above.

Hi, I appreciate brokers aren't obliged to give this information at initial enquiry but is there a way of finding out supplying dealer for stock vehicles that the broker is offering?

Car has been registered for some time and it's a 3 year deal, so would like to see if I can get dealer to throw in extended warranty and and 1st service/MOT

I've tried a a search on Manufacturer's website for used cars and anything with less than 1000 miles. Would a dealer still advertise a stock car for sale if they also want to offer it for lease?

Initial payment and proof of fully comp insurance done a week before delivery date, didn't want to give them any reason for yet another delay.

Overall a similar experience here, had to chase Zen relentlessly for updates on delivery, I've not really had any contact with the dealership. I know my Cupra is coming through the Vindis Group which apparently were one of the last groups of dealerships to make arrangements for contactless deliveries. Zen also cited a shortage of drivers, prioritisation of NHS and key workers, as well as the massive backlog as reasons for the continued delay.

To their credit, when I moaned about my current car going back and being left high and dry without a car they arranged a courtesy rental, which by the time the Cupra gets delivered on Thursday I will have been driving around in the rental for for almost a month.

I’m quite concerned really. Dealership rang me on 27/05 to say the earliest they could arrange delivery would be the following Thursday. The earliest I could get BCA to collect my car is the Thursday after that, so next week. I’ve got it booked it in for then, so collecting my old car and getting the new one the same day.

I’ve had no contact from Zen at all. It’s as if they don’t even know that i’m getting the car delivered! I shouldn’t have to chase them up to take the initial payment, surely? I’ve got to say, this is the most unorganised lease company I’ve ever dealt with. Great at ordering point, but a complete shambles after that.

After the dealer has arranged delivery you should have an email from Zen a few days later which explains the deposit required and proof of insurance at least two days before the car gets delivered.
Have to agree though they haven’t been the best on the communication front.

Same experience with Zen on a cheap Cupra here. Mine was due to be delivered at the end of March but was obviously postponed by lockdown. I've heard nothing from them since, but I wasn't chasing since I'm only working from home and we don't really need a second car for the time being.

Received an email a couple of days ago direct from dealer asking me to arrange a delivery date. I asked the dealer how long we could delay for and was told it has to be this month, so I've arranged delivery for the end of June.

Still haven't got rid of the VWFS Audi that's been sat on my drive since its collection was also delayed. BCA made an appointment for a few weeks ago but phoned up half-way through the collection day to tell me it was going nowhere. Third attempt at collection is next week - hope it goes then.

Cheers, I’ll keep an eye out for it. I’ve been constantly making sure I’ve not missed an email somewhere or if it’s ended up in my junk folder or something.

Never been asked for proof of insurance before either. What have people been providing for this?I’ve already got a policy on my current car that I’m gonna swap over to the new car. Either that or cancel the current one and start a new one, as I only took it out a few months ago, but I’d have to do that on the day of delivery I think and I don’t want Zen being funny with me and delaying it any further. What are they accepting?

I wasn't asked for proof of insurance for my first couple of leases, but this time round I was - I ignored it and nobody ever chased it up.

Has anyone had delivery of a car in Scotland yet? Still waiting on my order originally due in March and tempted to cancel to pick up something if there is anywhere delivering quicker. Douglas Park BMW is who I'm waiting on but they just keep pushing the delivery back. I know deliveries have started back down south but wasn't clear if the dealerships are back open up here.

Looking to dip my toe into leasing for the first time... found a decent enough deal on a golf gt mk7 for two years. I expect to do less than 5k miles each year - would you take maintenance on this basis?

Not worth it. You will only have to do 1 service, and that's it.

Should be paying less than maybe £175 a month for 5k miles on an outgoing model?
Anyway. Depends what the maintenance quote is. If it’s say £5 a month then it might be worth it. Surely you just need to work out the likely cost of a service v’s the cost of the plan?

Was that one of the Cupra deals through Zen?
