Looking to dip my toe into leasing for the first time... found a decent enough deal on a golf gt mk7 for two years. I expect to do less than 5k miles each year - would you take maintenance on this basis?
Definitely not. I have never had maintenance agreement on a 2 year deal for any of the VAG cars I have had. As pointed out earlier you will only need one service in that two year period - around £250. So the maintenance plan would have to be sub £10 a month to even consider it. Tyres are not an issue either - unless you are doing huge mileage (15k a year plus). In most cases a front to back swap for £20 at the halfway point in the lease will ensure there is plenty of life left in them at the end. On 5k a year you don't even need to worry about that. You may need to budget for some washer fluid however - that will be all you need!
O/H's Kia Sportage is being returned early (PCH/lease) and the cost is rather favourable. less than half of the remaining 6 payments.
Does anyone have any experience of damage charges using LeasePlan Uk?
she has a scuff on the front bumper, thinking about getting repaired, well depending on their charges.
Cheers

Ask them for a damage recharge matrix. Sometimes it isn’t worth getting these things repaired yourself as they may cost you more and potentially be picked up during an inspection if poorly repaired.Does anyone have any experience of damage charges using LeasePlan Uk?

My new lease car (VW) should have been registered and delivered in March but due to Covid this has been delayed. VW dealer has now advised that the car will cost me £300 extra because car duty has increased in April. Seems a bit unfair?
I’m pleased to advise that the dealer has written off this extra charge.brittas14 said:

I returned my vehicle to Total Motion/Pink and today received a damage charge invoice but they did not mention the extra mileage I done. Will I receive a different mileage invoice later on?
You might. I’d just leave it and if they don’t invoice you then great!musafir05 said:

Mine ordered end of April should be at the dealers next week, then expect about a week for pdi.
We shall see how fast the final delivery is moving now.
Quite a few valeters aren't back working yet, or have a backlog of regular clients, so looks like I shall have to DIY.

Heard back from BMW yesterday, my car is arriving on Monday. They had confirmed when lockdown started that they would arrange delivery instead of me having to go collect, but when they phoned they said that because they could offer the click and collect service they would no longer absorb the cost for delivery. At £50 for delivery there was no chance I was paying that when they already said they would deliver it due to the circumstances, after arguing my case for a bit they caved and I should finally receive it next week sometime! Delighted.
Word of warning to anyone who gets a lease car with Diamond Cut alloys. My GTi started showing a bit of corrosion on 2 wheels in year one and the dealership said it was due to tiny stone chips and then the water gets under the layer and caused lifting and corrosion. Anyway I have been in contact with Arval as the car is nearing return and they want to charge me for new wheels at 750 each.
I argued with them that it is a damage issue so it should be under the damage charges of £60 a wheel. They are saying no.
I argued with VW it's a warranty issue and the wheels are not fit for purpose. They say it's a damage issue and won't help out.
Not sure what else I can do apart from a refurb or buy new wheels.

Why do they charge more than vwfs?I argued with them that it is a damage issue so it should be under the damage charges of £60 a wheel. They are saying no.

£750 each...!? That’s ridiculous. Have you asked vw for a price?

The car hasn’t gone back - get it to a wheel refurb place asap
Or buy a set from eBay eg

Swap them over and sell your corroded ones for £500.

Finally getting delivery (next week!) of the Peugeot 3008 I ordered back in Feb, very excited.
This is an 18 month lease (1+17), and need to quickly sort out the insurance. Does anyone have any recommendations? I don't even know which kind of insurance I need, first time leasing. Been told GAP insurance might be worth it if you have a big down payment, but mine is only 1+17. Anyway, does anyone have any recommendations for insurance i can quickly sort out online? Appreciate it!
