We have an A4 (vwfs) going back later this year. Was initially a 2 year extended to 3. We had the long life service done about a week late and thought that would be it til handback. However theyve reset the service indicator for bang on 3 years as it's due a brake fluid change at 3 years.

So my question is can you hand a Vwfs car back with a service warning in xx days showing as long as it's not over due? We were planning on handing it back a week or 2 early anyway to save any ambiguity over the mot.
My s5 went back to vwfs on Monday, oil service was showing due in 5 days. As long as it's before the service is due you are fine.

Has anyone had issues with Arval before? Just want some advice on their contracts

I got a quote of Carparison weeks ago and all went well. Good deal, quick responses etc. Anyway got an email off Arval and it was the contract, read it all etc and was going to sign it next day. Then I had an email off Carparison saying the one they sent had some coding errors on it so Arval will send me a new one, which they did and I then signed.

All going well again then a week later I get another email off Arval to sign a contract, opened it up and it was for 10k miles and customer maintained. I had agreed on 8k and funder maintained. I didn’t sign it, and asked the broker. Broker said must be a mistake and they will contact Arval. Anyway, got back to me and said it was a mistake and I will get another contract (this would be my 4th one). Still not had this 4th one and the broker has said it was sent on the 27th feb.

My concern is the only one I have signed is at the 14 days cancellation window tomorrow. Would you recommend making sure this one is cancelled before I sign any new agreement? I have emails from the broker explaining they were errors but will this be enough? I just don’t want to end up being charged for two initial payments and then Arval stating I signed two agreements

I’ve always gone with nationwide previously and never had these issues before, but I think the mistakes are with Arval rather than the broker.

If my owned for 22 years BMW doesn't make it through its MOT next time, I might consider a lease.

Anyone dealt with Dacia as I fancy a basic Duster?

Also I guess they'll want you to have fully comp insurance.

Never considered a lease before. Always fear the first keying or parking knock from some inconsiderate sod, but then always owned so just lived with it.

Doesn't it cost loads to keep fixing stuff every time you get a dink or scuff?

Sounds stressful.

I have not done anything to my BMW in decades. Ex wife added a few dents but I still quite often come back to wherever I have parked it, to find a new scuff or scratch.

Bought a Mustang new and had it for 2 years. 2 scuffs on alloys which I touched up and some stone chips on bonnet.

But then I lived in Surrey with a big personal parking spot by a detached cottage. Rarely left it parked in London.

Once I moved back, I sold it as I just couldn't bare leaving it on the streets.

Lease agreement - is this typical? Just signing up for a lease to replace current one. The lease agreement is a little different.

It's a 3+23 at an average £300 per month.

The agreement tone is that it is never ending, and that the first 24 months are the initial period with various termination clauses etc and you even have to give notice one month before the end. If you don't (and they don't) then the lease continues and the price is stated and happens to be the average price of £300 a month.

I don't have a problem with this, it's fine and potentially is quite good as it gives the open option of just continuing at what might be a good price at the time.

Is this typical??
I’ve not come across this and am on third lease contract.
Who is it with / through?
Arval. For a Volvo. Just seen another comment about Arval above so going to have another read through! Though I am usually pretty thorough.

Sorry to hear that. Did you decide not to have a car at all?

Dacia will probably be cheaper to buy than lease.

I bought one, most of the cash coming from a 3% personal loan. Knowing I can sell it and get some cash in has been one less worry over having an extra 400 a month to find.

Good to have flexibility like this in some situations. How does running it compare to leasing costs (out of interest)?

It was a 3 year old (now 4 years old) jag xe 3.0 V6. Paid 20k. Got it from a main dealer so has 2 year warranty.

I have had a lease car in the past. Wouldnt be adverse to it again, but having a 3 year old car (so roughly half price) but with main dealer warranty is a sweet spot I like. Just hoping I dont need to get rid of the XE as I love it

There are industry standards Bvrla have to adhere to.

I don’t think leasing is really for you. If you have just lived with dents and scuffs in the past then hopefully your 22 year old car passes Mot.
Personally with a new car if I had a dent I would want it fixed ASAP and would only leave it if near end of lease term due to return costs usually being slightly cheaper than having to repair yourself.

Anyone any experience with LEX lease return charges? Specifically JLR Alloy wheel refurb charges? Alloys are outside of the BVLA Wear & Tear guide so wondering if i should get them done prior to return (business so ex vat) or wait for the charge?
Thanks

Hi. Can anyone with experience of vwfs answer these for me pls?
1. I have formally extended my vwfs lease for 6mths, if I was to terminate early is it the same 55% early termination cost upto the end of the 6mth extension?

2. If I were to informally extend another 3mths (after the 6mths) and I then wanted to early terminate contract (eg with 2mths left) would it still be 55% of remaining payments?
Many thanks all.

As far as I know, when you formally extend, it's an amendment to the original contract, the only things that change are termination date and payment/month.

I've just had an informal extension, and it's being calculated on a pro rata basis, so I think you can end early if you've informally extended, but best to call them and clarify. They've always been very helpful with me.

My Seat Cupra via VWFS goes back at the end of July. Read through the contract and it mentions about them terminating it, nothing if I want to terminate. Anyone handed the car back early? Guess I need to pay the final payment even if handed back. Their extension rate is crazy, so might grab an in stock pre reg car on offer.

Hi,

I'm looking at leasing a Golf GTI (first lease, only ever owned cars outright before). I applied for a deal and the lease company have been doing a finance check with ALD for nearly a week now!?

The finance company say that ALD are very slow at the moment to issue a decision on new lease contracts and it's nothing to worry about. Is this normal? My credit score is only a few points off being as high as it goes on Experian. Wondering what could be holding it up?

Thanks for help smile

Might be that the broker hasn't fulfilled enough orders to confirm the deal you have signed up to yet!
