Probably similar amount under for me also, depending on how things pan out.
I have tried calling but, you know, lines busy due COVID blahhh. Emailed and got a reply, sending to contract team 3-5 days for quote. I also asked about informal extensions but that got ignored.
Well that took ages and all for a grand saving of....£72.08 for handing back the car with 14k instead of 20k.I have tried calling but, you know, lines busy due COVID blahhh. I'll ask nearer the time about informal extension as dealing with them is a bit painful right now.
Has anyone had there VW serviced at a local garage instead of VW Stealer and gotten away with it. My local VW are next to useless and a complete bunch of liars so I dont want to take it there they also want £280 for basically an oil change. My local garage who are very good will do it for £140 inc VW parts. My contract does say it must be a dealer it just pains me to pay them anything.

You must do whatever your contract agreement says. Different people have different contracts. Some people say as long as you use genuine parts you will be fine, that’s only correct if that’s what their contract says.If your contract says you must go to a VW dealer... then your other options for servicing, without penalty, are limited.

My local VW dealer price matches local independents. May be worth giving that a try if not already If your contract says you must go to a VW dealer... then your other options for servicing, without penalty, are limited.

Anyone familiar with Honda Contract Hire damage charges? Some cock has done this to my other halves Honda Jazz 5-6 weeks before it is due to be returned after a 3 year lease. Badly scratched and bumper cracked at the bottom.
That’s through the paint and so it’s a repair and won’t polish out (much). No idea what Honda’s charges are though Edited by Grantyboy1983 on Saturday 30th January 13:40

I back this guy up, with a good machine polish most of that will come out.
I’m not convinced most of that is coming out from a DIY with a DA. You can see it’s gone through the paint layer in some places so no amount of polishing will fix that. You can probably improve it a fair amount but ultimately it needs spraying if he wants to avoid a charge.Got a query about dealer contributions on a lease that it would be great to just check if its "normal"...?
So signed up for a deal via Yes-Lease found via lease-loco. Deal was for £1663 initial + 23 x £184 (inc vat - personal rental). So far so good. Did the inital enquiries car in stock etc... got the broker order form to sign & so far everything matches up (oh and £300 arangement fee - already paid).
Few days later and I've now got full on hire agreement from VW Finance (Skoda car) and it has: initial rental £2717 + 23 payments of £184. The accompanying email from the broker includes the text:
"Please note this is a contribution deal, the dealership is making a payment towards the initial rental payment stated on the agreement of £878 + vat.
This payment will be sent direct to you after delivery but before VW Finance take any funds."
Which explains the difference in the initial rental values but firstly I'm annoyed that this hasn't been mentioned to me at all upto this point and secondly I'm wary of signing the full financial documentation as it puts me on the line for the full higher ammount & I don't have anything legal covering the dealer contribution.
I get that the dealer contribution is fairly standard but any suggestions on how I handle this - just go for it and sign, or insist on some sort of other doucmentation detailing things legaly?
Thanks

As you said, fairly standard and I didn't see anyone complaining about it. My currently ordered car will be coming with dealer contribution as well, and it's all mentioned on Order form.
Thanks, I think thats my problem is it isn't mentioned on the order form at all - the only (and first) mention is in the email acompanying the full financial documentation....Hi guys - newbie here looking for a bit of advice on returning my first lease car.
It will be collected by Arval and (I'm blaming my kids!) has numerous scratches.
I thought most could be polished out but the local bodyshop reckon not so I'm resigned to a hefty damage bill.
I found the doc linked below which suggests the max they can charge for scratches is £135 per panel - regardless of number of individual scraches on the panel.
Does this sound right and does anyone have a view on whether its worth trying other bodyshops re polishing?
