Hello - long time lurker here and looking to potentially FTK my first lease on a Ford Kuga.
What's the best way to decide if the option to include maintenance is worth considering? Is there a rough guide to use?
TIA
Work out how much extra the maintenance costs, then decide if it’s cheaper than services/tyres/anything else you’ll need over the term of the lease. What's the best way to decide if the option to include maintenance is worth considering? Is there a rough guide to use?

Could be an interesting week ahead... V60 meant to be picked up Weds after my slightly early lease termination - what happens if they can't pick it up, all this lockdown rumour stuff! In the email reply about the collection it states:
"• You will continue to be charged for the vehicle until we have been able to collect it from you. "
So if they're not able to collect they'll keep charging me... hmmm.
Picking up S90 on Thursday... looking at bringing that forward to tomorrow or Tuesday as I don't want to be paying for something that isn't at my house if we get a lockdown even if I can't use it... oh the irony!

I think you’re over thinking this."• You will continue to be charged for the vehicle until we have been able to collect it from you. "

The car is available for them to pick up. If they don’t or can’t get to it, they won’t keep charging you, especially in these very strange and exceptional times.
The only thing you will need to do if they don’t collect is ensure they take over the insurance of the car

We’ve also got a collection this week and a delivery next - had texts confirming the collection via Mannheim. Shall see what happens but not too fussed if the delivery is held up as we won’t be using it for the foreseeable future anyway.
Collection tomorrow has just been cancelled - and the Mannheim phone lines are now offline it seems so no way to contact them. I guess we are no longer liable for the vehicle once the contract expires, and I assume we can cancel our DD. Not sure about keeping the vehicle insured though.

If they do cancel (or indeed if not) I’ll be taking photos on Weds to document the condition at that date.
Hey guys,
I'm due to get my VW Golf R Estate delivered end of April, and have just received contract hire agreement to sign.
With the current finance/virus situation, I would prefer to cancel the whole order.
I was wondering if anyone else was in a similar situation? Are there any penalties to pay before I sign the contract?
The only thing signed so far was the order form.

Surely that depends on what the agreement you've already signed states regarding any cancellation fees or recoverable costs. If the order has been placed and the dealer paid the relevant fees, surely they would include wording that allows them to recover this from you.I'm due to get my VW Golf R Estate delivered end of April, and have just received contract hire agreement to sign.

Hi.
I’ve just been informed today that my lease car which was due to be delivered this Wednesday has been cancelled due the Coronavirus.
Am I within my rights to cancel this order without penalty as I’ve not had a vehicle for 2 weeks and can’t go any longer without one?
I still need to get to work as a key worker so it looks like I’m going to have buy one as public transport isn’t an option.
Thanks.

Similar questions all around i guess...
My grabdland x is due it's 12m service which is booked on Thursday. I'm not allowed to go anymore so wonder whether the lease company can penalise me?
I guess it's oil filter and inspection. Thing only has 7000 miles on it so if I go best endeavours to get hold of some oil if it's low there's not much else can be done?
Wife is pregnant due June so want to keep the thing running ok

Absolutely gutted, but just emailed over my cancellation for my new A class which was due to be delivered in 2 weeks. Was lucky I was on day 13 of the 14 day cooling off period.
With these uncertain times I was worried that if I lost my job funding the monthly payments for 3 years will be a real struggle. My current lease was due back in 2 weeks too, but don’t think that will be picked up now for another month or two.
Hopefully in a few months when all this is over with I can start looking again, or will just have to buy a cheap runaround for a bit.
