Shower of s**t.

Just got home to find my invoice for excess mileage which I was expecting and then a separate one for the 'extra days hire'...

They're now trying to charge me for the additional time I had the car after BCA cancelled the original collection due to COVID-19. Needless to say I won't be paying that!
I've had the same today. My car was originally due to be collected on 27th March which was 1 day before the end of the contract but they cancelled. Other than the standard letter offering to extend I heard nothing more from them but I went ahead and booked the collection again using the original link and it was collected on 1st June. They are now trying to charge me for 65 days extra hire at £869 for a car that has been sitting on my drive!

Just chased up my written compliant via telephone, got through to someone straight away, who thankfully was really helpful and apologetic.

She’s now resolved my complaint and cleared the missed payment marker from all three credit agencies, she’s following it up via email this afternoon.

For clarity to those concerned, VWFS do indeed report missed payments to Equifax, Transunion, and Experian. They are all separate.

If you’re insistent on disputing your credit report yourselves, then you’ll need to do it with all three.

However I can confirm VWFS have done Equifax and Experian on my behalf (Transunion I did myself).

Very happy for this all to be over.

Good result, can you confirm they were able to do the credit files on the phone and they have already changed when you view them?
I have done transunion myself of like you but I still need the other two doing. Each time I phone they say it takes 28 days but it’s been near in 60.

Basically I phoned for an update and she just said “don’t worry we can sort that out now for you.”

She said it hadn’t been done when I phoned but they’ve been done by her as of COP today. Haven’t got the email confirming yet but so far so good.

She told me the complaint process takes 8 weeks but removing the credit file markers should only take 72 hours.

If you phone up I would recommend staying very calm and friendly.

Thanks mate I ll give them a call and see what I can do, I’ve been calm most times to be fair but think I’ve had the wrong person at the end of the phone.

This whole thread has me massively worried.

My return date was 7th June. I filled in the Skoda online form a week before. They said BCA would be in touch (they haven’t). Since the last day of my contract my, my car has been in the Skoda dealer having a replacement water pump. I’ve still heard nothing from BCA.

All advice greatly welcome before I get invoiced for ‘over due’.

Thanks

Does the BCA inspector confirm any extra charges/account closure on collection of the car? BCA collection is due tomorrow.

For added info,

Not a cancelled collection;

But i took out option for a informal extension for 3 months @ £205 p/m but the incompetent VWFS processed it through as a formal 12 month extension at double the existing monthly rate. This was around xmas time. Finally got it resolved in May as had to get ombudsman involved due to credit markers for the 12m extension and missed payment markers left on my account.

Got £250 compensation.

They will only confirm any damage charges, not account closure. That has to come from the VWFS.

You will receive a 'vehicle condition report' via email shortly after the inspection (within an hour in my case) itemising detailing damages, noting the severity and repair cost of each. No need to act on this, you'll then receive a 'Settling your end of contract agreement' letter in the post from VWFS which details the charges you need to pay to close your account, this will include damage charges and excess mileage if any. The damage charges from VWFS may be identical to the BCA report or they may be less if VWFS have found it in their hearts to write any off. In my case it was a carbon copy and i got hit for all the damage BCA picked up in their inspection.

Had the same today, charged for 71 days! Has anyone been able to get through to talk to them on their very busy phone lines?

Just sounds like an automated admin miss of when the computer says the contract ends and when the computer says the car is collected.

FFS!

Emailed Skoda last week to say BCA still not been in touch and how I’m worried about what might happen having read the horror stories about ‘over due’ charges.

This was their response last Thursday....

Good morning Mr Ricardo,

Thank you for contacting Skoda Financial Services.

Due to the delay of BCA collection vehicles we are waiving the extra days hire charge as this is through no fault of your own.

We have resubmitted the logistics of your collection to BCA, please allow 48 hours for this to update before attempting the BCA portal.

I have still heard nothing from BCA. Their portal doesn’t recognise my car/agreement and when I call I just get the ‘offices closed due to Covid’ message!

I had/have this same problem.

The number for BCA on the Skoda paperwork is wrong. The number I used to reach BCA successfully was 03457004433.

Try that.

For anyone else in the same position: I called that number above when my car details couldn’t be found on their collection website and got through.

The chap at BCA put me on to Skoda/VFWS on 01908485566 and told me to ask for the hand back process to be started, and to ensure the vehicle logistics are sent to BCA Logistics. Same 48hr process.

Actually I was supposed to call today to arrange collection.

Anecdotally, the person at Skoda told me I could still drive the car after my lease ends, before BCA collect it. He put that in writing on an email too. Suffice to say I won’t be driving it though as that seems a bit moody.

No worries.

Today I booked the collection on the last day of my lease - 7 or 8 July.

Assuming they turn up, we’re good.

Get it logged with the FOS now then.

The FOS are meant to reply within 3 weeks, but mine is over a month now with no update probably due to covid, so just chased them again.

I settled early on 12/06 and had to call BCA to get them to collect as I heard nothing. Collection due 1 July.

Had an arrears letter in the post this morning. It seems that until they get the car back, they take no account of the early settlement funds being paid.

Also, despite me being told otherwise, the payment I made on my credit card to settle is a cash advance and I've been charged for that. Thanks VWFS!
