You're probably over 40. Decent bluetooth connectivity for music and hands free calls is a game changer, so are driver aids such as adaptive cruise control, BLIS, cameras etc. It's almost always a phone in the hands of a distracted driver, not the radio or navigation.
Bluetooth for hands free calls is a must but I can live without other tech and comm. I want to drive the car, not the other way around, when it decides for me.

For the first time in years, I don't want brand new car, because I don't want touch screens replacing aircon mgmt.

Engine over spec all day long.

What's the point in having lots of toys but a wheezer up front?

Cortina Crusader anyone?

I used to think engine first but not now.

I have a 35tdi on order, thought about the 40 but I don't need quattro (or the extra costs that go with it) 163bhp is enough for me. I must be getting old as a few years ago I would only have bought the 190bhp/40tdi version!

Those of us who are old enough will remember the impassioned debate that often took place about whether dials or sliders were best for regulating heating and ventiliation in our pre-aircon cars.

Plus ca change...
