Currently going through the process of a divorce so naturally its important to consider what car I can get next without marital constraints!

My current car goes back next April so got a bit of time to save up.

I need 4 seats
Noise is a big factor
Economy doesnt matter
Under 35k

So far I keep coming back to a lotus Evora 2+2

Any other ideas what to look at to stop me going mad and keep my mind on track?

The TVR Cerbera is a 2+2(just about) and they make a fantastic noise...and they are guaranteed to make you smile(and cry occasionally!).

Do you actually want rear seats you can sit a human in? If so I'd suggest taking a close look at an Evora before you get your hopes up too much!

Do you want a 2+2 (2 adults + 2 kids or 4-adults for short trips) or a proper 4-seater (4 adults for long trips)?

Anyway, if I include both, and use the loosest term of 'sports car', and I haven't checked prices on any of these, then:
  • Alfa Romeo Guilia Quadrifoglio
  • Audi TTRS, RS3, RS4, RS6
  • BMW M5, M6, M3, M4, M2
  • Ford Focus RS, Mustang
  • Honda Civic Type R
  • Lexus GSF, ISF, RCF, LC
  • Mercedes C63, E63
  • Porsche 911, Panamera
  • Renault Megane RS
  • Toyota GT86

Cheers for the suggestions, plenty to look at!
Back seats will be for my daughter so dont need loads of space.

Forgot to say something at or near the bottom of its depreciation would be nice so I can sell it after a year to add to a house deposit.

This is worked out on what I can save after everything has gone through and my money is mine.

A sports car is something different to each individual. I love the Nissan GT-R(R35) but it is more of a very high performance GT to me, so maybe that is why. I wouldn't class an Aston Martin as a sports car either.

Just found a yellow one on Ebay, my daughter would love it, her favourite colour!
And had a listen on YouTube for the sound.... oh my!

+1 for a Cerbera. My (then) 3-and-a-bit year old lad used to love mine but I insisted he wore a pair of children's Peltors.

However, I'm not sure how well they'd do in a crash so, with the benefit of age I might choose differently if I had to now.

A chap I know has a yellow one, and whenever he followed me in it I thought that it sat lovely on the road in that colour. cool

It is also worth having a little bit of extra money put to one side if you do decide to go in that direction I reckon.
