Has anyone dealt with Sellacarquickly.com?

A friend of mine has bought a new car and has agreed a trade in price with the dealer for his old one.

He has since been contacted by a company by the name of Sellacarquickly.com who have offered him a little bit more than the dealer for his trade in. I think its about £250 quid difference.

I've had a quick search on Google, and can't find much about them.

Have any of you heard of them, or had any dealings?

I know £250 is a lot of money but is it worth the hassle? You know what will happen; they'll find a mark on the car, mark it down and offer £250 less than the dealer px. cash!

Looks similar to what tootle was.

It offers your cars to their subscribed dealers who''l then send out their buyer to your home, or offer you a little more if you deliver it to them.

But I've noticed one interesting statement on their website,

""No awkward negotiations on your doorstep""

Only if the description is accurate, and there isn't any problems with the car that owner might, or might not, have known about.

They'll send an expert out to buy/inspect your car. Who wouldn't?

And it's not unusual for the seller to find out for the first time that their pride and joy has been in a nasty accident, and been poorly repaired.

So their statement of ""No awkward negotiations on your doorstep"" is a bit silly, and no way guaranteed.

He'd entered his details into a few car valuation sites.

He'd contacted them via an online valuation form. Their offer is £400 quid better than the dealers, so not an insignificant sum.

There doesn't appear to be much info about the company online, so he's not sure if its genuine or not.

Ok.

I've been out of the game for a few years now, company I used to work for just came up on Google when someone typed in "sell my car"

I guess some new internet models are to sell info to other companies nowadays.

All I could really see is that their address is a mailbox in a very nice part of London.

The address on companies house looks like their accountant.

Not so unusual.

These types of platforms can work well, out of 1,000 dealers there'd probably be one or two that might really want certain types of cars.

They may well email again in a few days with a higher offer if he ignores them.

I'd probably just give them a call, try to suss out if they're genuine.

These types of companies are usually set up by people who've been the trade for years, and have a huge amount of contacts.

They could well be doing a good bit of business at the moment with WBAC not running 100%
