Can people stop banging on about golf r deals from 5 years ago ?? Golf r’s are terrible anyway if you’re over 25! New 4 series is looking nice and very polarising reviews hopefully be some good deals on them when they launch. Was some good deals on the e300 premium plus coupes but they seem to have passed too :/
nah - theyre pretty good for a daily actuallyThe new 4 series 'looking nice' but a Golf R looks terrible?

Not bad, however, like you the 35 engine put me off as believe that’s 150hp? I did spot an S-Line deal somewhere for c. £250 on a 3+23 basis, albeit 5k miles.
Yeah it's 150hp. 0-60 in 8.4secs in S-Tronic form. It'll be a much nicer place to sit in over the M140i, but the lack of pace will take some getting used to. Not a complete dealbreaker though, as I don't drive like a tool on public roads. I'm quite tempted by an S3 8V facelift too. Can pick them up for £20-23k at the moment.

The 35 TFSI is a fantastic engine.
The Edition 1 is the sweet spot of the range two, really feels like a class above inside with all those toys and the seats are very nice. Southlegend, you should option the flat bottom steering wheel if its not standard if you can, its fantastic.
I'm sure I'll appreciate the MPG compared to my last car The flat bottomed wheels comes as standard in the Edition 1 trim (y)The Edition 1 is the sweet spot of the range two, really feels like a class above inside with all those toys and the seats are very nice. Where is this from?
DriveSpeed Leasing. It was never advertised on their site but I enquired about another deal which was no longer available and then asked them to quote me for that car out of curiosity. It's a factory order so it's looking like a February delivery.Mo28 said:

I recently asked my friend to give me a ride in her 2y old leased Octavia 1.0 and it wasn't that bad.
Thanks sleepera6 for your previous detailed reply. I’ll miss the S60 but it is too big really, if I can get that ‘nice place to sit’ feeling for a decent price in a smaller car that will do the job. The Mazda 3 and CX-30 appeal too but I’ll likely enquire about the Audi lead times on Monday, I’m in no rush so hopefully it’s months not weeks.

What I would say is that downgrading in performance, whilst missed, is somewhat easy to get used to. Going from both of the above to the Polo Gti hasn’t been too hard but unsure just how sluggish another 50hp drop might feel.
Decisions, decisions!

IMO golf r’s look cheap. Reminds me of a friend who loved telling us how it was nearly as quick as a C63. That might be true but it’s not a c63 it’s a boxy 4 pot fart box that’s designed for 21 year olds.
Hold on, Golf R’s look cheap but the 4 series doesn’t? I’ve owned plenty of BMWs in my time and love them but even I will say the 4 series definitely doesn’t look “expensive” in what is obviously going to be lease-spec (chrome and shopping trolley wheels) in fact it looks rather cheap. The Golf looks like a premium car with the widely optioned 19 inch wheels. In terms of looking expensive, the C class coupe leaves it for dead:
C220d AMG Line
420i M Sport
M Sport Pro sharpens up the looks on the outside but drives up the price massively, whereas the Merc just looks like that with no options.

A C63 has a horrible image. A Golf R just looks like a Golf to most people.
Yes the engine is just a farty 4 pot. Yes they are desired by 21 year olds. But if you stick with 18s and a normal colour then it’s going to nicely blend in with everything else on the road.
At the risk of a censure from the "this thread is only for deals" self appointed police will just make one comment. Of all those who live in properties that one could class as neighbours, even if they aren't immediately so, only two of the family members, both sons as it happens, constantly drive like utter bell ends. One is in a Golf R, the other a Scirocco R.

Looks like a good deal to me, however can someone explain to me if the balloon payment here would make sense to own the car outright? I’ve never used PCP but would love an M2, its in budget but highly doubt the wife would let me strike... she’s said no to every new car so far! sleepera6 said:

If it’s worth buying a car at the end of a PCP, you didn’t get a good enough deal. Driller38 said:
